My basic rule of thumb when posting pics on here or anywhere else are; Bin anything blurred. Crop out the crap. Get rid of red eye. Tweak the contrast. And never post an unflattering pic.

The Falcons have been one of my favourite soul bands and it was absolutely brilliant to see them live and meet Sonny in Northampton in 2006. RIP big man.

The difference is Simsy, you can drive 150 miles in the States and everything will be exactly the same at journey's end, as at the start. Imagine the difference say driving 150 miles north from London, different architecture, accents, character of people.etc. It's the same with soul........it does change from region to region and unless you pick your West midlands events carefully, you do get a diet of oldies in my experience. I'll give a shout here for Creative soul in Wellingborough as trying something very different. And before anyone says it, Northants is officially in the East Midlands.

We've had a foot of snow in Northants this week. The real problem this weekend for those in the snowy areas is the predicted -5 temps which will turn the roads into skid pans. Be safe people!

The saying "Ignorance is bliss" must have been invented for the N.S scene. Too much knowledge of bollatics can be detrimental to one's night out. Music..life is for enjoying.

It may be for some people...... but if you hear a tune for the first time, how can it be nostalgic as it will have no memories attached to it? Lots of people on the scene are always striving to hear new stuff and not trying to relive the Wigan era. Just my observation.

I know when we drop our interest rates, the £ tends to weaken against the $ as you stated Mikey, but I've noticed that dire warnings from the Bank of England, or some Govt minister/top bod seems to be having a much bigger effect on the £'s slide. There are two sides to this though...... the work I'm selling in America is worth much more £'s when converted now!

Live Acts You Would Like To See At Weekenders

The Falcons played at the Northampton weekender in 2006 and were brilliant! If I could see any live act, it would be The Five Stairsteps, if I could turn the clocks back further than one hour that is. -
It may be $1.50 before the end of the day! Just checked Yahoo and it was one $1.53...... hang on , it's now $1.52 Actually, it suits me cos I sold a load of work in the States last year and didn't bring the money over because of the unfavourable exchange rate ($2.11 about a year ago) Now, I would get £100's extra, just for waiting.......
