  1. I'm with you on the Timi Yuro, Macca, and at least no one has suggested "Pyramid!", it would get me running out the door......
  2. Nah, Yuro, totally overplayed IMHO
  3. I was one of those people who didn't really bother about watching live acts, preferring to dance to records...... that was until I saw Dean Parrish in Kettering a couple of years back. What a brilliant performer and he had the whole place dancing! Great to see a performer really enjoy himself too! I believe he's on at Butlitz in Skeggy next month too. Since the Kettering gig, I've watched the live acts with a much more open mind. Cheers Dean!
  4. With or without soul, Edinburgh is such a fab city! You'll have fun!!
  5. Come see what's left of me - Bobby Hutton Deeper in my heart - Sonji Clay Gone now - Fran Jefferies For no other reason than the above are three of my favourite slower tunes! Personally the three before eight do nothin for me.......
  6. I'll tell where Northampton is Bearsy.........above Gillingham!
  7. As soon as I posted I knew someone would ask that! Ent yer eard of Google? It's near Irthlingborough. Hope that helps! (Ok it's in Northants, the arse end of the soul world before Mr Darcy chimes in ) And that is between London and Birmingham!
  8. One of my fave's too. Jem usually gives it a spin (on my insistence although I don't hear him complaining) at the Pemberton, Rushden.
  9. My god , they didn't miss the bit out about them all being miners did they? All northerners are tough, miners and have 10ft of snow outside for 6 months a year........yawn!
  10. Happy Christmas and a soulful new year to everyone on Soul Source! Mark.
  11. I don't know you Pete, but I hope you make a full recovery mate!
  12. Only one in the whole of Kent? There's two less than a mile apart in Wellingborough this Saturday! How lucky that you are unspoilt for choice!
  13. And found a MP3 of said tune here.........https://funky16corners.wordpress.com/2007/11/12/earl-king-and-ernie-k-doe-meet-the-meters/
  14. Ha ha..... Heard it for the first time last night, nice tune!
  15. The original latin thread of earlier this year really got me into it! My favourite is Freak Off-Larry Harlow which you can hear by clicking on my "last played" button. It really gets going towards the end! Brilliant track.
  16. Ya know what, I don't care how cheap it is or when it was made, I think it's a great tune. It's a good job I've not been on the scene long enough to turn into a snob! Thanks for the tip Rupert, sometimes the software isn't available for Mac's but I'll give it a whirl. Oh and Mr Donnelly, just cos the p*sh are doing rubbish, don't take it out on my music tastes!
  17. Thanks Russ. Tis a great tune and I've only heard it played once in 6 years and that was at the NCS nighter at the Stable last year. When it started up I thought WTF.......... I have it as a ram. file, but can't convert to MP3, hence my request.
  18. Could someone post up or pm me a MP3 of this track, pretty please? Thanks
  19. I arrived at my friends house in Albuquerque to find a package for me. What a nice surprise and what a great CD. Some cracking tracks I've never heard but the overall package is pure quality. Thank you Richard for your generosity!
  20. Perhaps we could all supply a DNA sample so we could see the genetic make up up Soul sourcers......
  21. Your just a bunch of Sokels!
  22. None for me..........I'm happy to have done what I have done in the past 6 years and what you didn't know you don't miss. All my memories and experiences are relatively new. OK, then, at a push, for historical reasons, Wigan, but musically, I would have preferred Stafford.
  23. Who was the President, the Straw Bear??
  24. Isn't buying and selling records about making money? I mean, I've spoken to many a record collector who tell you with glee how much the £10 find is now worth £100,s. I'm sure everyone will feel much better should the sun ever re-appear!
