  1. Fkin awesome John, one of my true hero's, what a vocalist! , but sad to see TP in the wheelchair Lenny
  2. Have to say I enjoyed this, excellent footage of Dusty but with all too short praises from music people, I think she was virtually begging Berry Gordy to take her to Motown, why he did'nt and took Kiki Dee was anyone's guess, still a revealing insight into her troubled life and I think she was crying out for professional help that never came, such a sad ending to her life, RIP Dusty Lenny
  3. Had to say I really enjoyed this, some great performances on it and I think she was almost begging Berry Gordy to take her to Motown, what a star she would have been there, a lot better than Kiki Dee methinks, still a very troubled lady crying out for professional help that never came and how ugly was she in that school photo! Lenny
  4. Probably It's A Knockout! Lenny
  5. Very much agree, just got to get the timimg right and hit it, even if it does'nt come off i've a tendency to crank up the volume a bit so that people just might take notice, either that i'll always tell them they're a bunch of tubes for not dancing to it! Lenny
  6. That was great mate, from my beloved Ready Steady Go Lenny
  7. Joanie, how good are these!!, gasp!, will be gettin a hold of that album very soon honey, see you soon, Lenny

  10. Can anyone recommend any half decent cd's on mod stuff other than the obvious cheers, Lenny
  11. Don't agree with you that its a myth that mods did'nt like The Who, they were gods for the first two years of them forming until they moved on to longhair shit , I saw them here in Edinburgh in 65 and believe me mate they were awesome, however as soon as the change of direction came they were quickly dropped as were The Kinks and The Small Faces, but having said that I think these groups image was more important than their music in hindsight Lenny
  12. No idea Si but if I remember correctly there were some tasty lookin scoots outside that night and my cousin and myself positively drooling over them, wish i'd had a bloody camera in those days
  13. Interesting story about London mods from that era, a load of them came up to Edinburgh at the owner of the clubs invite and they could'nt believe the sound that were playing in the club that night, an old friend of mine who used to dj there said they were asking him for The Crystals and The Ronettes , and believe this or not a couple of them had sales boxes!, two of which I still have today, Mel Torme--Comin Home Baby and Sharon Tandy--Hold On, but the clothes they were wearing were unbelievable compared to the rubbish we had in the shops up here, great days and memories Lenny
  14. Sorry mate, was'nt me Lenny
  15. Different end of the country Simon, i'm from Edinburgh where clubs like McGoos, The Place, The International and The Gamp were top mod shops and they always played a good mixture but soul was my number one although at a recent Friday Street promotion where my son was in a band I was knocked out by the beat/psych records that were being played, Lenny
  16. As a first generation mod just wondered if its all RnB at mod do's these days, is there any beat type records played such as The Action or The Creation or any garage 60s type music, be nice to know if anyone has info, Lenny
  17. Distinctly ordinary imo Lenny
  18. Kind of stuck to my guns on Saturday but the thinning floor was getting to me so popped on a couple of oldies and went back to playing what I wanted, kind of worked out for me......I think Lenny
