  7. Dunno, really can't be arsed with all this "modfather" bullshit that he's supposed to be but my son has Ocean Colour Scene album with a track called "All Up", which I think the band wrote after consulting with him, cracking instrumental really, but can't be bothered with all these wannabe soulmen Lenny

  10. Certainly wasn't having a go Marcelle it was just an example of what i've seen lately, interesting feedback from my original post, on a personal note I feel that after about 30-40 minutes playing discs I just get to feel what the punters want but having said that doing two 45 minute spots is ok by me, I think you can try something a little bit fresh during the first one to put the feelers out on how the crowd reacts to them then make up your mind what you want to play for the second half, as for payment you won't be able to retire on your earnings up here in Scotland! Lenny
  11. Just looking at the Wigan niter which was on I can't help noticing that a lot of venues are putting dj's on for 45 minutes instead of an hour, ok the more dj's the better some might say but ask any dj how long he would like and it's odds on an hour, just how many records can you play in one 45 minute spot?, and is it really worth the long journey some may have to be on such a short time, what do you the readers and the dj's think? Lenny
  12. A couple of others are-- Garnet Mimms--I'll Take Good Care Of You--utterly awesome hairs up on the back of the neck stuff! Walter Jackson--It's All Over--tears in my eyes just thinking about it! Lenny
  13. One i've been playing a few times recently, Temptations--Save My Love For A Rainy Day from the With A Lot O Soul album, brilliant! Lenny
  14. I decided against a bid for a record on ebay this week as the guy (within the UK) wanted £3.50 postage...uninsured , i emailed him but got no reply, are these people on this planet? Lenny
  15. Never had one problem with them since I started getting records through the post over 20 years ago, the stick they get is unreal, I think they do a great job under the circumstances, now that i've said that they'll lose my next record Lenny
  16. Well said Tone, greed is the only polite word I can find, some seller at a recent do wanted top whack for a record in rather dire condition, just went back into the guy's box like a shot! Lenny
  17. I've played this one about three times today! Rhetta Hughes Giving Up My Heartaches from the Relight My Fire LP Top! Lenny
