  1. What a beauty Nick Lenny
  2. Where do I start , here's a selection with the respective albums in brackets, not really in any order I'm Gonna Getcha (Spinners 8) You Got The Love That I Need (Spinners 8) I Found Love (When I Found You) (Yesterday Today And Tomorrow) You're The Love Of My Life ( Yesterday Today And Tomorrow) Just To Be With You (Yesterday Today And Tomorrow) Sitting On Top Of The World (New And Improved) There's No One Like You (New And Improved) I've Got To Make It On My Own (New And Improved) You're All I Need In Life (Happiness Is Being With) If You Can't Be In Love (Happiness Is Being With) Honest I Do (Pick Of The Litter) I Don't Want To Lose You (Pick Of The Litter) Just As Long As We Have Love (Pick Of The Litter) Just Can't Get You out Of My Mind (The Detroit Spinners) I Could Never Repay Your Love (The Detroit Spinners) Since I've Been Gone (Mighty Love) He'll Never Love You like I Do (Mighty Love) Love Has Gone Away (Mighty Love) Love Don't Love Nobody (Mighty Love) Love Is In Season (Cross Fire) Its A Natural Affair (From Here To Eternally) Are You Ready For Love (From Here To Eternally) Just a sample of my faves, sadly at the turn of the 70s they left Sigma Sound in Philly and headed for the disco lights and programmed music, I continued to buy their albums out of sheer respect for them but some of the 80s albums are pretty dire, would post some sound clips up but all the songs are on my windows media player and don't really know how to transfer them for upload on here. Lenny
  3. What terrible news!!, the uncanny thing here is I have the full set of Spinners albums which i've just downloaded to my PC via my usb turntable...how scary , their Atlantic albums of the 70s have some incredible and heartbreaking songs on them, RIP my dear friend Lenny
  4. Not earth shatteringly rare but nice anyway, some lovely covers on show in previous threads Lenny (the anorak)

  11. Oops missed this, gutted to say the least, good luck with the new venue Ady Lenny PS-stay away from the medicine cabinet Kenny!!
  12. JUST HAD EMAIL FROM ADY SAYING THE 100 CLUB IS GONE, NO MORE UNTIL POSSIBLY LATER ON IN THE YEAR AND THEN IT MIGHT ONLY BE 9-3, JANUARY DATE MOVED TO A CLUB IN LONDON BRIDGE, I FORSEE MASS SUICIDE ON THIS SITE TONIGHT!! BLT
  13. Not going to add my views on actual smoking, my wife smokes, the smoking ban has been in force up here in Scotland since last March and numbers have started to fall now that the cold weather has come I think people are reluctant to stand outside for a puff, it's ok if the weather is fine outside, overall I don't think the ban has been broken more than a couple of times which to me is remarkable, beleive me when I say this that your local council have their smoke wardens (no kidding) everywhere, and I mean everywhere, the publican will get done for a grand and you will be fined up to £200, and it will also go against the license holder when he or she renews it, scary stuff but I personally think it will affect smaller venue's rather than bigger one's down south, but once the better weather comes in next year numbers will probably start to rise Lenny
  14. Many thank Neil..great stuff!!
  15. Anyone got an mp3 of this great track?, thanks in advance Lenny
  16. i agree, he quite clearly states that it's a re press, i also think he may have duped certain people on here hence the nastyness, JM, Anglo American all sell these type of records quite openly so whats all the fuss, just ignore it!
  17. Think this has been done before but has this actually been issued?, a mate told me that the only version on vinyl was on Stardust , regards, Lenny
  18. ALL THE VERY BEST FROM BONNIE SCOTLAND HAVE A "GUID NEW YEAR" AND LANG MAY YIR LUM REEK! LENNY
  19. Let's have a "hidden gems" list of James's stuff, have to admit not that familiar with his own output other that the 60ts stuff, post up of sound bites would be great as well Lenny
  20. Totally shocked at his passing , his input to the soul scene was incredible, how many great records on his King label?, was never a massive fan of his funky tunes but as someone has already said on here have been known to "git down" to them, I think some of his early 60s output set standards for all soul music, his 70s output was of course dominated by funk but through that little gems of soul came through such as People Wake Up And Live and others were a shining example of his soul roots, never a man to practise what he preached he will be remembered with great affection and in soul heaven tonight there will be a "Funky Good Time" with no one sitting still, soul on James, RIP Lenny
  21. First--Baby Love--The Supremes 1964 Last--Baby Jane--Otis Clay--came yesterday I like records with "baby" in them then? L
  22. And a cracking show it was as well...Fraser Dunn=soul genius! Lenny

  24. Brilliant record Kenny, will be playing this out tomorrow, Lenny
  25. Thanks guys Lenny
