  1. Is this thread more about further boots being pushed onto the market or people being ripped off?

I am playing devils advocate here (so go easy),  When purchasing anything it is always buyer beware (or seller even) and all down to someones knowledge/lack of.

How many on here would quite rightly buy a rarity for a song off e bay if the seller was clueless and didn't realise what he had?

Ha, but I am not deceiving anyone I can here you say?:)

Well, say you went into a charity shop and saw a 50 count box of singles with a sign on it saying "to be sold as a job lot only", £20.

Whilst plowing through the middle of the road shite you come across a 5k biggy nestled snuggly in the middle.

When the little old lady asks you what interested you in the old box of records that had be there years with no one taking the slightest interest in them, do you tell her about the rarity and offer 4 grand for the records:g: or do you mumble something about your missus loving Lonny Donegan and shove a twenty pound note into her hand?:wicked:

    I live in hope!

There might be another issue here.  Why did Tramp records spend so much time and effort with the giveaway legit reissue in replicating the original (albeit they didn't quite get it right)?  Why didn't they design a completely different label?

Could it be that they were hoping that somewhere down the line unsuspecting buyers or wannabee OVO DJs would pay well over the odds for the single?

    Heaven forbid:ohmy:

Why would Tramp records "hoping that somewhere down the line unsuspecting buyers or wannabee OVO DJs would pay well over the odds for the single?" benefit Tramp records?

Do you have a pair of favourite/lucky dancing shoes, or indeed any other item of clothing, beer towel, bag etc that you feel is irreplaceable?

My irreplaceable Y fronts had since the Casino, (30 inch bottoms high waist band, nothing worse than feeling trussed up when shaking a leg), always wear them out to venues, toyed with the idea of giving them a wash but afraid to risk it these days. Certainly been lucky for me always seem to find plenty room on the floor when up dancing, now I think of it I always find plenty when I'm not!

He's strap line is:     “Record has been in storage for over half a century!

And it will be there at least twice as long again at that price.

  5. You look back now at the furore of the time and doesn't it bring a wry smile to your face, was it a case of being  easy targets?

I don't think there would be a toilet in any half decent sized village public house these days that doesn't have traces of the old Columbian marching powder in them, yet no one mentions it.

Is it because it's the drug of choice of the "Establishment", or have the authorities just admitted defeat?
