ok i sometimes dj, i really like the track its kick ass northern by the additions (see below) its not on vinyl, just cd. Our club is original vinyl only, whilst i appreciate the theory....allowing cd's would just create more headaches than they might resolve at a northern night. why wasnt this put on vinyl, i want it, i want to dance to it, i want others to dance to it, its fn kick ass northern aint it. i rarely buy cds mainly 2nd had vinyl. if i have to will go to vinyl carvers myself, otherwise would love to buy a kent-ace -grapevine but if you cant see the potential (too late now) am pressing one copy for me to play, am just trying to highlight some of the problems listen to this stonker if you havnt already got cd, and lets see the power of soul source to sort this Additions___We_re_In_Love.mp3

alrite Tone i wasn't having a dig at label inaction but if nothing else this thread has prompted some. If its not easily cost effective to release Northern 45's, what about widening the target audience with a ballad or other artist on b-side? Just ideas but maybe still not viable. The people buying this want to own it on vinyl, maybe they have it on cd, maybe vinyl collections (real or counterfeit) is becoming the new retro home accesory to impress the neighbours! many on here own or have sold counterfeit vinyl, cds and other goods, technology is changing the music market how does it react? I started a thread a recently about whether free cd's should be deliberately low quality so as not to affect companies that make legal compilations, 1 person commented.... And what about us dj's if we cut an unissued track from a cd, is this good or bad for the industry/artist, appreciate your industry input danny

Not condoning this but playing devils advocat, how much would she lose out on on say a 500 run that probably wont all sell? Can you still purchase a "HFS" 45 legally with royalties onforwarded to her. What about her record label doing a legal reissue, obviously there is/was some demand for it, why didnt they pre-empt this situ. Maybe one of the purchasers of the dodgy one will begin to trawl her catalogue. And all this cafuffle is at least some promotion for Ms Jackson. as a luddite was gonna ask what the moree effect is, just googled its something along lines of missing fine detail on photographic reproduction (is it?). If so could the limitations of the pc monitor or summin cause this too?
