  1. 80 isn't as many as you think, might be worth putting in the graft yourself to save on paying somebody else commission, depends how bothered you are about making a few extra quid or saving yourself the hassle. There's plenty of info readily available on line or in the price guides to give you an idea of realistic value.
  2. Completely missed that! Sorry! At least you found em first, I'm a year late jumping on the bandwagon! So you would recommend one then? They look lovely! Do they feel well built? cheers and apologies Mike
  3. Good luck, fantastic record!
  4. I think the idea of this thread is "on the books" value. I picked up Wade Flemmons-That Other Place for £25 and Jo Ann Garrett for £30 ish recently. And not forgetting inflation, records people bought 30 years ago will be worth a lot more now
  5. My Dad has one of the German ones from Manship and I was having a look, they are a bit more protective with thicker lining/padding inside etc. I'm sure they are just over twice the price of a Blacka box but as you say, in the grand scheme of things £100-£200 isn't that much compared to the value of the contents!
  6. Good stuff!
  7. That's the ones. I should have posted the link! Doh! Good choice Mark, did you get a single row? I've had a few made a tad longer but Pat who works in the office was telling me that's become more of the standard size now. Really are cracking boxes!
  8. Will try to! Cheers
  9. Never been a fan of shredded wheat
  10. I've just come across another record box manufacturer that looks pretty good. Will be a tough choice not getting a Blacka one next but I have seen a company called wax in wood based in Barcelona, they look nice! Not the cheapest but have a look, a bit similar to that wooden box above on Manship
  11. There is supposedly a vinyl revival happening with sales at their highest in a long time last year. Whilst there is still demand for rare and original vinyl it is however concerning the amount of folk on the likes of Facebook who don't care what the format is and have no appreciation for the records being original and the Northern Soul scene being an original vinyl scene. Suppose it's my fault for being on Facebook.
  12. I'm 26. Been brought up listening to Northern Soul so I mainly blame my Dad for this expensive hobby!
  13. Yes but it is a price GUIDE. It comes in very handy when on the hunt for records. On several occasions I have heard a record and thought wow, I've got to have that. I could have paid well over the odds but the guide enables me to get an idea what to pay for it.
  14. A Manship price guide is handy to have in my opinion.
  15. There's one in sales
  16. Is that a regular thing you do? DS has been on my to do list for a while especially as I live in Manchester!
  17. Ahh! I thought it was a reissue or boot but I see what you mean now I've looked at the photo more closely! Thanks for the info folks
  18. Picked mine up on discogs from the states. Try there maybe?
  19. Sorted now! Cheers
  20. Sent you a pm Cheers
  21. Thanks for the info! I did think the one above was the 1st issue so the blue and yellow must be the reissue of it then
  22. Yes I did just come across this on the top tips thread! Is the 1st issue a blue label and the reissue blue and yellow? I have seen a few online but varying prices and labels so thought I would ask on here! Let me know if you've one to sell. I can pay via PayPal as friends and family. Cheers!
  23. Good luck! Wouldn't mind a copy of a Bettye Swann myself but prices gone up loads as it's in demand at the mo
  24. All the best everyone!
