  3. Yes, that's where I saw it, must admit to wondering about the A / B Side DEMO I have asked before if there are 2 DEMOs as there are 2 Different label variations for the Stock Copy. Dist. by Malynn Enterprises Inc. (Either above or below line)
  4. It is extremely Rare on PROMO Seen at £100, considering how cheap the Stock Copy is, it's difficult to price. Not that easy to find, your copy is only the 4th copy that I've ever heard mention of in over 40 years of collecting.
  5. Here's a long overdue thank you for the brilliant Bootleg Guide that landed on my doorstep just before Christmas. I had already purchased the earlier guides, thinking "That's me covered"; however, because so much more information has been documented since my last purchase, it left me way back in the past. Hats off to the information provided by John, from cover to cover, accurate information that I have never found elsewhere. I said back in 2008 that "the Bootleg Guide is indeed an essential purchase beyond the information given here," and how right I was. (blowing own trumpet here) However, I should have taken my own advice! Excellent, informative guide John & long may it continue, I found it so much easier to document potential rogue records using Version 5 than previous issues.
  6. >>> THE MARVELETTES <<< Gladys Horton Wanda Young (Rogers) Katherine Anderson (Schaffner) Juanita Cowart Georgeanna Tillman Ann Bogan Georgia Dobbins Sadly we lost Gladys Horton this week. A founder member of The Marvelettes. Many Thanks to Gladys Horton for the foresight & belief in her group. Between them they created records still treasured to this day.

  8. Many Thanks Dave & Pete In over 40 years of collecting it's the first time I have actually held one, I've seen the scans etc
  9. Just bought this Betty Everett SAMPLE RECORD, noticed that when SAMPLE RECORD Stickers were placed on the label considerable care appears to have been taken as to positioning of Sticker. I'm assuming that they were applied by hand, covering the Label name in this case but leaving ALL other relevant Information on View. Got me wondering how many would have been in a batch for each release. I'm guessing that it was more cost effective compared to printing a Custom DEMO Label. Therefore (If that was the case), possibly smaller quantities. Here's 3 Sandy Wynn's from PopSike.com "3" ! on Popsike, makes it appear easy doesn't it, but it most certainly isn't.

  11. That is Interesting Sebastian, never noticed that before. Wonder if it ever reached the shops. Guessing the Stock Copies were never distributed for sale.
  12. >>> LINK <<< I have been watching this one on ebay for a few weeks (Buy It Now), toying with Idea of finding the funds somehow, (Import Duty on top, etc) adding to cost so changed mind, notice it has been SOLD. Only the second Stock Copy that I have ever seen. Oh for a Lottery Win. Must be a Rare one, most copies are DEMOs in my experience.

  14. Hi John As far as I'm aware we didn't Identify the 3rd Version. It would be good to find the difference in the Deadwax.

  18. Thanks John. Monarch are so accurate with their delta numbers, it must be a significant event to get the X on the wrong side. At the time it was probably too late in the process to change things.

  20. Here is the Information that I posted in >>> <<< This could be explained elsewhere but If it is, I haven't seen it. I've often wondered why one of the DEMOs has the Labels Reversed so I thought I would check things. Just a Theory. I'm not sure if they changed their mind regarding the "PLUG SIDE" causing confusion with the Matrix or just Human Error & we may never know. Clearly something Unusual Happened. I think that when the Bestway Press was made, they probably wouldn't have played it & simply followed the Information Given. Bestway Press - Labels on Wrong Sides. I have been Looking at this and believe that the reason the Labels are on the wrong side is because someone mixed the Matrix Numbers up between the Printers & Pressing Plant. Clearly printed on the Labels (8008) & (8009) Corresponds with the Information on the Deadwax (8008) & (8009). However when played the wrong song is in the grooves. Monarch Press - Labels on the correct sides for each title, but to achieve this the Matrix (8009) on the Label & (8008) in the Deadwax. Of course the other side has Matrix (8008) on the Label & (8009) in the Deadwax. Another pointer to this theory is the Monarch Matrix Delta # 65704 For "TOO DARN SOULFUL" # 65704-X For "YOU DON'T LOVE ME ANYMORE" Which is the "PLUG SIDE" Yet the "-X" Denotes the "B Side" on a Monarch Press.
