  1. Interesting point regarding Individual, rather than Multiple. The last couple of Customs charges for me happened to be records from Canada. Is this a coincidence I wonder, can the route to UK make a difference depending on Area sent from.
  2. The only copy I have ever seen was at Soul Bowl back in the 70s. It was A White Demo being played for the person buying it from John. Already spoken for else I would have bought it.
  3. Notice that this has BOTH MOJO & COTILLION Matrix on the Label (2092-001/45-44123)
  4. Slightly Different Design
  5. Not sure when they changed from REO REAL HUMDINGER - J J BARNES is on REO TO WIN YOUR HEART - LAURA LEE is on RCA VICTOR CANADA INTERNATIONAL Same as HEADLINE NEWS - EDWIN STARR
  6. R.I.P. Frank Wilson
  7. I thought I might try to Identify the Various Pressing Plants Originally used by Mirwood. As "BABY, DO THE PHILLY DOG" has the most differences in my collection, I have chosen 5523 I'm also assuming no reason to counterfeit or boot this release over the years. We see quite a few on the DARK BLUE Label, Anyone know which pressing plant these were pressed ? STYRENE STYRENE ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MONARCH : DELTA # 62723 = BABY, DO THE PHILLY DOG DELTA # 62740 = WESTERN MOVIES STYRENE STYRENE STYRENE VINYL This one does have the Monarch Delta # even though it is Vinyl. Slightly different Label Layout to Styrene Monarch. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Guessing there's a DEMO out there for the Pressing Plant below. Anyone know which Pressing Plant these were pressed ? VINYL
  8. Ric-Tics from Around The World.
  9. Thanks for Information on this.
  10. This one is Vinyl with correct Deadwax on Soul Bowl list as Thicker Vinyl press. Should still have the list somewhere. Not sure which pressing plant. It's different Variation to the East or West Coast Design as described above.
  11. This Original Variation was copied but on Red Paper.
  12. Here are the EPs >>> LINK <<<
  13. Many Thanks, Your Identification of a Midwest Copy fills a gap in the puzzle. I have no doubt that the VIP Logo was Intended to be Straight. However, The Various Pressing Plants and Printer appear to have left clues as to the region the record was pressed. Quality Control didn't specify regards to Label Layout. Just piecing together the different pressing plants, staggered VIP appears on quite a few releases and I believe. Looking at the Layout, gives a clue to pressing plant. WEST COAST (Styrene Bold Text) - Expect a Multicoloured DEMO, although some releases are Black / White EAST COAST = STRAIGHT VIP LOGO (Vinyl) Label Number to right. EAST COAST = DOUBLE SIDED STOCK COPY - (USED FOR PROMOTION I BELEIVE) MIDWEST = STAGGERED VIP LOGO (Vinyl) Label Number at Bottom. The position of the Label Credits, match on all three.
  14. Thanks Rod Your DEMO to this Stock Copy EAST COAST PopSike.com I assume that the; Vinyl EAST COAST = Straight VIP at side Label Number, situated to the right on a DEMO / Stock Copy. MIDWEST = Staggered VIP DEMO - Label Number at the bottom DEMO / Stock Copy. Styrene WEST COAST = Normally MULTICOLOURED DEMO (Sometimes WHITE / BLACK DEMO), Bold Text. I wonder if there's a MONARCH press for DOWNBEATS out there too as a DEMO or Stock Copy.
  15. Thanks again. (Midwest) pressing, I assume that they must have gone to press before Monarch. or at least printed the labels.
  16. Many Thanks, is that the Straight VIP Logo at the side.
  17. Yes, the very place. Had about 2 or three suitcases full of UK / British Labels. Beyond the Normal Stock. Selling some to buy a Mini if I remember correctly. Agree Dave, nice bloke.
  18. Yes Dave I bought quite a few British from dave `snowy` morgan many years ago.
  19. It does sound like Dusty. Surely with such a large fan base somebody would know if it was.
  20. As the Stock Copy either doesn't exist or Virtually Impossible (Small Quantity) Yet to see one even though it features in Price Guides. Wondering if the groups name was a problem, similar to "Batman At The Go-Go" copyright problems.
  21. Thanks Sean Wondering if just one Pressing Plant was Involved by allowing THE DOWNBEATS copies to escape. Must have been late in production when the Artists name was changed, Stock Copies Involved as THE DOWNBEATS. My DEMO has Delta # 59496 / Delta # 59497 which places it at October / November 1965 >>> ANORAK'S CORNER <<<
  22. PopSike.com PopSike.com We have the name change from THE DOWNBEATS to THE ELGINS with STICKERS covering THE DOWNBEATS etc. The Staggered VIP LOGO for the DEMO and later VIP Design for THE DOWNBEATS. Later VIP Design for THE ELGINS Just bought this on the Earlier VIP Design as a DEMO (MONARCH PRESS) Monarch did have the habit of using the Earlier Designs for a longer period of time to other pressing plants. Group name "ELGINS" rather than THE ELGINS Guessing there's a Stock Copy on the Earlier Design too for the West Coast Press. Any West Coast Early Design as THE DOWNBEATS ? How many Variations are out there for this release ?
  23. My second copy of "HAPPY DAYS" has the ARCHER STAMP on the "A Side" whereas my Existing copy has the ARCHER STAMP on the "B Side". The Labels are Identical and both sides play as the Label suggests, however the Deadwax has also been altered. I wonder if this was a simple mistake, or was "HAPPY DAYS" ever considered as the A SIDE. TOPIC FROM >>> <<< ARCHER STAMP This copy has "W-145-A" Scratched in the DEADWAX on the "HAPPY DAYS" (B SIDE) ARCHER STAMP "W-145-B" Scratched in the DEADWAX on the "Trying Real Hard" (A SIDE) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The copy below has "W-145-B" Scratched in the DEADWAX on the "HAPPY DAYS" (B SIDE) The Matrix as above Looks like they altered the A to B by scratching across the bottom of the A "W-145-B A" Scratched in the DEADWAX on the "Trying Real Hard" (A SIDE) ARCHER STAMP ARCHER STAMP ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
