  1. WEST COAST Black / White DEMO STYRENE - Monarch Pressing Plant (DELTA # In Deadwax) EAST COAST Vinyl "Arp" Pressing Plant Alignment Looking at the Text Alignment on the Label credits, The"ARP" press, can usually be determined by the Fully Left or Right Justification. MIDWEST Vinyl - The copies I have in the Collection have a "Nashville Matrix" in the Deadwax
  2. Just piecing together the different pressing plants, staggered VIP appears on quite a few releases and I believe. Looking at the Layout, gives a clue to pressing plant. WEST COAST (Styrene Bold Text) - Expect a Multicoloured DEMO, although some releases are Black / White STYRENE - Monarch Pressing Plant (DELTA # In Deadwax) EAST COAST = STRAIGHT VIP LOGO (Vinyl) Label Number to right. Vinyl "Arp" Pressing Plant EAST COAST = DOUBLE SIDED STOCK COPY - (USED FOR PROMOTION I BELEIVE) Vinyl "Arp" Pressing Plant MIDWEST = STAGGERED VIP LOGO (Vinyl) Label Number at Bottom. Vinyl- The copies I have in the Collection have a "Nashville Matrix" in the Deadwax The position of the Label Credits, match on all three.
  3. Can It Be Me - Mel Williams - Modern The Stock Copy & White DEMO have Identical Matrix Details. The deadwax on both DEMO & Stock Copy is ONLY about 7mm - On original copies Matrix scratched in "MM-1023-1" ( The matrix is small, about 2mm tall and situated between run off groove and playing area - as soon as it was possible to fit it in - almost touching groove above and below it) Run off groove in the deadwax spirals to centre quite quickly within one turn of disc - 270 degees Almost ALL of the DEMO copies have black marker pen through the Promotional Copy - Not For Sale, Area. (Even the Counterfeit Copies tried to copy this) However, clean copies may exist. Tiny Text close to Run Off certainly Ticks one of the boxes. I hope that this helps and hope that It is an Original. The lack of Marker Pen is quite rare, Enjoy.
  4. I know that this has been discussed many times before on such topics. I still see it listed as being there, but to date, no one has provided evidence of a stock copy. The Star Treks - Gonna Need Magic Years of searching. etc.
  5. I don't think "You Just Don't Know" is out there as a Stock Copy. However ; Just when you think that it isn't there, a copy turns up. Or in this case, a copy for each coast. I've only ever seen them via the Scans below. This one certainly exists on a Stock Copy, but where are they and why are they so Rare ? Chubby Checker was the Big Name at the Label via the Various Dance Craze related singles. How come his Later singles reached the Promotion stage and then shelved / virtually shelved. The UK Obviously had the go ahead for "You Just Don't Know" to be released. It just adds to the puzzle regarding the U.S.A. release. EAST COAST : www.PopSike.com WEST COAST : www.PopSike.com
  6. I first saw a Scan of the Yellow Copy on the >>> <<< thread from 2007 Not one that you see very often.
  7. Years of searching, always thought it should be there following the Rush Reservice DEMO. Finally found a Red Stock copy with the Correct Title.
  8. Very sad news. Condolences to family friends. R.I.P. Salmon
  9. I think it is Richard. I bought all three from Soul Bowl back in the 70s. I haven't seen another UA Stock Copy since, other than the scans on PopSike where it would appear to be more DEMOs than Stock Copies.
  10. Notice that it is classed as an Instrumental - Both Sides. Never really thought of "Sock It To 'Em JB" as an Instrumental. It's very similar to Get It Baby - Stanley Mitchell in respect of the Vocal Chant Interjecting with the Instrumental.
  11. I would say that It Isn't that easy to find on DEMO, Plus different pressing plants Involved. I have seen a few different Label Variations for this on Stock Copy so are there other DEMO Variations ? MONARCH PRESS : For Instance, I believe that there should be a DEMO for the West Coast Monarch. I haven't seen one but see no reason why It shouldn't be there. Could be a White DEMO, may be a coloured DEMO same as Stock Copy but with PLUG SIDE, PROMOTIONAL etc on Label.

  13. Yes Rick, The copy that I have is Single Sided with a scoured vinyl "B Side" and blank Label. It would suggest that It was the "A Side". However; Totally different Label, but this one also has a Single Sided "B Side" DEMO BESTWAY PRESS : Different Side Promoted on this Single Sided DEMO
  14. You're right, I have only ever had the one realistic chance of owning this in 44 years of collecting.
  15. They are quite difficult. I have these from different pressing plants. MONARCH PRESS : COLUMBIA : ZTSB (Nashville) PLASTIC PRODUCTS : (Memphis)
  16. Not White DEMOs, but easy on Stock Copy compared to the DEMO
  17. I do have a couple of Promotional Records with the Drill hole. However, In theory I believe It should only be Stock Copies that have this.
  18. Must admit, I hadn't seen them before either. Couldn't resist buying when I found them. The Lou Johnson has exactly the same Stamped Matrix as the UK London copy.
