  1. Hi Dave I'm really looking forward to this Magazine, Great News that it is out early.
  2. I wonder If the original unedited Video could ever be available, without all these effects. Surely it must exist in it's Raw state. There is a lot of priceless footage of Artists, many who have since died. It would be nice to see straight forward Video footage of these. I can't help but thinking that it may have been used Initially because the artists were miming in an attempt to hide the fact it became a bit like Bart Simpson with his DYMO stickers, where even the Pets got one. The person who added the effects just couldn't stop.
  3. Hi Dave Definitely hard to find, the coloured DEMO's - I've only got 2 which I've scanned. The first Gordy 7047 was a suprise when I opened the mailer, as I bought it as a DEMO but had no pic on listing. The usual White DEMO as centre pic Gordy 7054 was the Type of DEMO I expected to see. The second coloured demo Gordy 7028 was listed with a Pic, but as an issue and I won with my bid, couldn't believe it. Worth a second glance with some of the issues for this reason. I have seen a couple of Coloured V.I.P. DEMO's, but you can't win them all. Looking forward to the new magazine - www.theresthatbeat.com - Subsribed today - Can't wait.
  4. If 10% of the effects were kept in and the suit remained it's original colour - It could have been an excellent video. At the end of the day I suppose we are lucky that film is available in any form of some of our artists, but I wish the effects could have been kept to a minimum. I must admit to wondering what the original colour of his suit was, Red?
  5. Hi Paul I agree, pleased you like it. I remember first hearing this and thinking, "I must get a copy". I think I found one within the month via a second hand shop for pence, but what a record. It just goes to show, you don't always have to dig deep to buy a decent record. I still like it today. While on the subject of Dusty, she deserves some credit for the Motown stuff that she helped to promote. Dusty Springfield - Get Ready -
  6. Did anyone notice the hair - Or lack of it. You dont see them like this very often.
  7. Not Lonely Man I Know - Anyone else buy ALBUM #2 Interesting to see them, I can't believe they cut such a monster of a Track like Lonely Man. Which was of course was pressed, covered as "Help Me Find My Way - The Detroit Shakers"
  8. Hi Dave Hi Phil I just thought I would mention that both mine were from Soul Bowl from the 1970's. I must say I wondered about the Black Marker Pen through the Not For Sale. The other Modern Demo's bought at the time were clean. It looks like the hunt is on for the unmarked copy, I hope it was looked after and not written on. It would be a shame if it has.
  9. Hi The original is on Styrene - Monarch THE SECRETS - I FEEL A THRILL COMING ON - Matrix "Delta 60430" THE SECRETS - HERE I AM - Matrix "Delta 60430-X" I bought this because I liked both sides and it followed The Wooden Nickels which I bought at the same time. I already had the the Vault DEMO & Stock Copy. Both are still favourite records of mine to this day. At the time I thought I would collect the rest of the label, which hasen't happened yet. The Matrix for The Wooden Nickels is "Delta 60383" so must have been released around the same time I guess. As to Value I'm not sure, but they are hard to find. As far as I am aware - The Secrets has been Booted - so BEWARE I hope this helps
  10. Hi Paul Pleased It's OK, don't be concerned over "dirtier label" - It's not an easy record to find. However I couldn't say what the going rate is for it I'm afraid. To me it's priceless - so many memories - a wonderful record - Well done
  11. Hi Gary The White DEMO well done, look out for the Stock Copy as well, both are nice to have in the collection.
  12. Hi Paul Check the Deadwax on either DEMO or Stock Copy - I have scanned my copies both are Identical in the Deadwax. The deadwax on both DEMO & Issue ONLY about 7mm - On original copies Matrix scratched in "MM-1023-1" ( The matrix is small, about 2mm tall and situated between run off groove and playing area - as soon as it was possible to fit it in - almost touching groove above and below it) Run off groove in the deadwax spirals to centre quite quickly within one turn of disc - 270 degees I hope that this helps
  13. Brilliant .... Notice that they couldn't take the cameras off them even when the credits started. Just to save the trip I've added 1,2 & 3 of this Otis Redding Special to your wonderful post. Thanks. Otis Redding - Ready Steady Go Special Part 1,2,3
  14. The end credits roll, shame, but they just had to keep those cameras going. Stunning Performance!
  15. Hi Derek Here is the BOOT COPY covered as Patience Valentine ........... ...................................................... BOOT COPY I liked this record, bought it, found out who it really was, found a Rising Sons DEMO and bought that. The Original Rising Sons DJ has the Mauve Star on the young tears side - You either like the record or? I remember buying this along with Dana Valery, Tomangoes, Johnny Caswell, The Gems etc. following a trip to Nottingham - I couldn't believe it - I spent most of my wages at the time on records and treasured these boots all the way home on the train, this was the only way to obtain them for most people at the time. I bought them all on Original Labels Later, which was a lot wiser investment, but when you go to a Northern Venue, you hear that sound, you're hooked, gotta have it, search for a copy, the result ..... playing that Wonderful Vinyl on the Record Decks - Bliss
  16. Hi The Stock Copy used to be fairly easy to obtain the White DEMO (Double Sided) has always been harder. It is one of those brilliant records that just seems to have become scarce over the years. Possibly being on Styrene doesn't help. I wonder if we are all guilty of thinking, "That's a common record, I've seen lot's", when actually some of these records have become a lot rarer - (Sort of crept up on us through time) I have scanned my copies which are both M-, Noticed the White DEMO is showing signs of foxing - (Possibly the glue used / Or just age)? I mention this in case you see one similar, I haven't stored this record any different to any of the others which remain white. Hope you find one
  17. It's a shame about the sound level on the Tambourines - Loud
  18. Hi I'm happy with the print quality on mine., as I say I have no reason to doubt this copy. "Everything about the record looks and feels right, the print quality, the vinyl etc"
  19. Hi Look for the code after the = i.e. Place It between [ TUBE] [/ TUBE ] (Don't have spaces between brackets, I had to put them in to show the code)
  20. Hi Still got it on VHS Somewhere - Brilliant, but it's a while since I watched it. I will be putting that right very shortly
