  1. Hi John I bought both of these from Soul Bowl in the 70's Parkway P-982 ............................................. Parkway P-983 The Janie Grant "Bell Sound" Matrix Stamp is Difficult to Detect. They appear to have sorted the problem out for the next number, which happens to be Christine Cooper.. This has "Bell Sound" firmly stamped on Both sides. However ..... I noticed that there is also another very faint Matrix, a little to the left of the bold "Bell Sound" possibly another "Bell Sound" very poorly stamped and very similar to the Janie Grant Matrix It almost looks like they had to replace a faulty Matrix stamp between these two issues.at the Pressing Plant. Like you say, it is a Minefield - Bootleg guide is a must have.
  2. The Thelma Lindsey Thread /index.php?showtopic=34102 STILL COLLECTING - Dancing's Restricted, ..FORTUNATELY Regards Roger Obviously PANDORA is the Rarest and commands a High price tag. Out of Interest Which is rarer Mohawk DEMO - I bought the Coloured first and then the White, Obviously NOT priced at £750 - Just curious, which is the rarer.
  3. My Hang Up Is You - The Skull Snaps
  4. Hi Chalky Wow, that has opened up a wealth of Information. Thanks. I'm on nights tonight, just typed it in on Google, lots to read up on tomorrow when I get home.
  5. Hi Chalky Thanks for that, I tried to find out about Jessica James, but found nothing. Thanks again
  6. The Toys: June Montiero, Barbara Parritt, Barbara Harris (vocals). Just wondered, I noticed that the Jessica James & The Outlaws - We'll Be Making Out sounds similar on vocals, to The Toys i.e. May My Heart Be Cast Into Stone Is there any link between the groups, as they are on the same Label. I looked on a website about The Toys, but nothing, so it might just be coincidence.
  7. Hi I've scanned my copies of the original White DEMO and Stock Copy they are on Vinyl and have "Bell Sound" Matrix Stamped in the Deadwax on Both sides. I hope this helps
  8. It has been floating about YouTube & Google for a while now. Apparently this was on BBC 4 the other day Whatever you think about the Video, It wasn't very well publicised, just hidden away as usual.
  9. If you haven't already, It's worth following this link from January 2006 /index.php?showtopic=23469 Pete-S kindly provided a soundclip from Wigan - It is the version of Footsie before PYE tried - WITH ATMOSPHERE! There's also TAINTED LOVE at Wigan, again with plenty of Stopmping & Handclaps They did play a very Important part in getting people interested in the scene
  10. Good question This record I bought because I loved it as soon as I heard It. but that would have been true with the version kept at 45 R.P.M. Here is the BOOT COPY covered as Moses Smith @ 48 R.P.M. ........... BOOT COPY Since then I have to ask myself, should they really have gone to the trouble as the Original cannot be improved upon It just puzzles me, regarding this record, but I suppose it's all down to personal taste to a degree, as is Bass, Treble etc
  11. Hi All This is the 100% original Styrene copy with Green Stick On Label and Scratched ZTSC Matrix as described above by John I hope this helps
  12. Hi Pete My copy has arrived too. plays perfectly, thank you.
  13. Thanks for taking the time to share this account I've saved us the journey to google to watch the clip
  14. Tone On the back of this question, do we know why "Two Hearts Make One Love" & "You Just Don't Know?" didn't gain a full release in the U.S.A.
  15. Hi This Has Been Discussed Recently I have repeated the Information from me plus the Link to the other Thread which Includes more Information from other members of Soul Source. /index.php?showtopic=32531 Check the Deadwax on either DEMO or Stock Copy - I have scanned my copies both are Identical in the Deadwax. The deadwax on both DEMO & Issue ONLY about 7mm - On original copies Matrix scratched in "MM-1023-1" ( The matrix is small, about 2mm tall and situated between run off groove and playing area - as soon as it was possible to fit it in - almost touching groove above and below it) Run off groove in the deadwax spirals to centre quite quickly within one turn of disc - 270 degees I hope that this helps
  16. Count me in, I've just sent via PayPal
  17. Agree with comments, please keep this site open
  18. Hi Gary Thanks for confirming that, I knew I had seen it written somewhere.
  19. Always pays to practice your moves, before you try them out on the floor.
  20. Hi Dave I've had these two records in the collection for years. It was also on Pameline. I'm not sure why it also came out, twice more, on two different Labels, or which was first. One is on Palmer Records, the Label you're wanting Information on. It's on Rarest of the Rare https://www.raresoulman.co.uk/rarest-of-the-rare/66 .
  21. Hi It could be garage, It's just something I remember reading about a few years ago. Thanks for posting the Label Scans, I was extremely fortunate to locate the White DEMO as mentioned on previous my post, but I've never ever seen a Stock Copy. As you quite rightly point out, "It's an extremely hard record to find and is consistently undervalued". Whatever the reason for It's rarity, It's a worthwhile purchase, "IF" you can find one that is.
  22. Hi I hadn't seen one of these, thanks for that. As I said In my original post, strange how the Carnival Logo crossed to the UK and then wasn't successful
  23. Hi John, Hi Ken Thanks for the Information, I thought that there should be another DEMO and Stock Copy, It's just that in all these years, I hadn't seen one. It just goes to show that you can be in the right place at the right time when looking for records, or ?
  24. Hi Tone Thanks for the swift and once again Informative reply, Rita and Benny - Joe Evans, I wonder who first contacted who about these Carnival releases, a lot easier today, with emails, cheaper air travel etc. We owe such a lot to the people who brought recordings such as these to our shores, such a shame it wasn't as successful at the time as it should have been. Thanks again
