  1. Hi I think anything is possible regarding Soul Bowl. Somewhere in the Loft I still have most of my Groove City/Soul Bowl lists with my frantic scribblings on them which were done while quickly walking to the phone box before Soul Bowl opened that morning. Having visited Soul Bowl as well, a few times, the amount of quality stuff I've witnessed up for sale was astounding. Even the Soul Packs £3 FOR A 100 had amazing records in. During one of my trips, John said, listen to these and put "Not Me Baby" The Silhouettes - The Steinways on Oliver - and a few more in front of me. A Little Joe Roman - "When You're Lonesome" Tuff DEMO was spinning on the deck at the time, which someone else had just bought. I remember John getting a quantity of Giant Label "What Can I Do" Stock copies - Described as from Lorraine Chandlers Garage if my memory serves me right & a small quantity of white label test pressing's of "Cool Off" signed by "Popcorn Wylie". Eula Cooper "Let Our Love Grow Higher" on the list one week, that was in small quantity, all Mint and just mentioned on the Main List a little more expensive than the others (At The Time) When I used to phone up and was told "I'm off to the States" OR "John's in the States at the moment" - It was time for me to put even more overtime in at work. - Happy Days.
  2. Here are a few more dyno-Voice
  3. Hi Dave Here are a few more ................................................................
  4. Hi Dave Brilliant, I can't wait to see It, I have scanned a few in, some I already had scanned, I'll look for any others A.S.A.P. As you can see, the labels on these two "Sapphires" are not as clean as most that I have. Which is the other Sapphires? I think you might have some of these though. Let me know
  5. Hi Dave I've got this that I've scanned for starters, I've also got the sapphires which i'm scanning at the moment You might be able to get better copies of the sapphires as thesre are some DJ Marks, but I have them If you want scans @ 300 dpi of any, let me know. I've just done some for "There's That Beat!" recently.
  6. Hi I saw this and thought KFC Adverts, gotta have the records featured on them, did the masses realise that this was Northern Soul that they were listening to. However I settled with these 3, the first because Soft Cell was so Incredibly successful with it, Gloria Jones should be recognised as the inspiration for them covering it in the first place. Even Marilyn Manson has now covered it, so I had to Include It Tainted Love - Gloria Jones Too Darn Soulful - Morris Chestnut I Worship You Baby - The Glories If they don't rush to the dance floor, check their pulse.
  7. Hi Apart from the Soul Fox/Mirwood era in the 70's which we are all aware of, I must admit that I hadn't heard of this theory about the Styrene Copies. As mentioned the Purple & The Blue issue are Monarch Delta # 59032 This dates it to September/October 1965, Monarch Delta #s are considered to be accurate when finding the date of press. I've checked some of my other copies that are Styrene Monarch 5504 Delta # 60006 - Dec 1965/Jan 1966 - The Olympics - We Go Together 5505 Delta # 60224 - Jan 1966/Feb 1966 - The Belles - Don't Pretend 5511 Delta # 60709 - Feb 1966/Mar 1966 - Bobby Garrett - My Little Girl 5515 Delta # 59255 - Oct 1965/Nov 1965 - Earl Cosby - Ooh Honey Baby 5523 Delta # 62703 - Jul 1966/ Aug 1966 - The Olympics - Baby, Do The Philly Dog To me these Delta #'s are the ones I would have expected for each record, so I can't see anything wrong with them. Also I can't Imagine Simon Sousan had any interest in re-pressing "The Duck"? I would say that the Styrene copies are 100% Original but from a different pressing plant - (Monarch) Anyone any thoughts on this.
  8. Hi I have always loved this Label, even though some are cheap - some are expensive - some are easy to find - others impossible. You're right .. Still fascinates me - yes I'm an anorak too - As they were cheap <-- (My Excuse - Told you "I'm an anorak") - I've got 4 different Label Variations for "Baby, Do The Philly Dog" & 2 Different Demo's (Not so Cheap) - A collectors Dream/Nightmare as to which was pressed first? but shows how many pressing plants were used and how many were made. Double A - STYRENE DEMO....................... STYRENE ................................ STYRENE ................ VINYL ................................ VINYL ................................ A & B STYRENE DEMO
  9. Hi I've just been to have a look. The Purple & Blue are Styrene Monarch Delta 59032 The White DEMO is on Vinyl and I can't see an obvious pressing plant mark just the numbers etc scratched in the Deadwax 65-1016 A Mirwood - 5502 - A (x-1865 with a line through) X-1867
  10. Hi It certainly is complex, these are my copies for The Duck - The DEMO and Purple Label I bought from Soul Bowl. The Blue one more recently from ebay.
  11. Hi Among my favourites on Mirwood is The Mirettes, which came out twice. - I've got Mirwood 5514 - The Mirettes - He's Alright With Me - You're Kind Ain't No Good. A brilliant Double Sider and .... Mirwood 5531 - The Mirettes - Now That I Found You Baby - He's Alright With Me A brilliant Double Sider Amazingly neither are amongst the most expensive Mirwoods Throughout almost the whole Label A or B Side, the Quality is astounding.
  12. Hi I haven't got this one yet, but according to Popsike there are 2 different DEMO's for this one. Both will be around the same value I guess, but I don't know If one is rarer than the other.
  13. Hi Jason I've been trying to complete this label for years - (When Funds Allow) - I've got The Belles - Don't Pretend - Words Can't Explain. A brilliant Double Sider According to Manship's USA Price Guide (3rd Edition) - DEMO £75 - Stock Copy £40 I have seen them go for less on ebay though they don't turn up too often. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From Manship's USA Price Guide (3rd Edition) - The Sheppards DEMO £250 - Stock Copy £200 The Performers £20 There is a 4th Edition due so prices may change.
  14. R.I.P.

  18. Hi Pete If you want to see a scan of this look at Manships Previous Auctions Number 1263 went for £280 I would have inserted the pic in this post, but probably need permision to embed, as it's from Johns Site and not mine.
  19. Hi Yes, I saw the one on Manships - A nice Item, I wonder how many are about. When I saw this, I wondered if it was a mistake at the Monarch pressing plant. Therefore, the question is, was a Styrene Monarch ever issued with the Groups Name on the Stock Copy as "The Younghearts" not "The Tempos" - The DEMO was certainly credited correctly. The Monarch Delta Numbers also next to each other 64810 & 64811 I have both Vinyl & Styrene for C-504 STYRENE ........................................ VINYL ........................................ STYRENE DELTA 64810 ................................................................................ ............. DELTA 64810 I haven't seen a Styrene Stock Copy for C-506 with "The Younghearts" on the Label. STYRENE ........................................ VINYL ........................................ STYRENE ? DELTA 64811 ................................................................................ ............. DELTA 64811? .................... ? I have been meaning to ask, does anyone know the order that "A Little Togetherness" was issued on It's various labels, Local / National, etc
  20. Hi Definitely, brilliant and cheap too. THE TEMPREES - I've only got these by them but I'm impressed, what others are there to look out for.
  21. Hi Mel He's a Pink DEMO, I think I've also seen this on a White DEMO as well.
  22. Hi Paul Yes, Billy Harner did "I Struck It Rich" Personally I like both Versions - Len Barry & Billy Harners Version of "I Struck It Rich"
  23. Hi Derek Takes me back this record, nice unusual label and sleeve too. My DEMO is Styrene and the Stock Copy is on Vinyl with anti slip around the label, just like in UK. They are certainly eye catching.
  24. Hi I've scanned my copies of SC105 & SC109 both are Promotional and both are Stamped The Cuckoo Clock Design is the first press but is very rare. The Whispers which has the same backing track, also has "Remember Me" whereas some have "Remember". The Promatics on Jo Jo also used the same backing track I hope this helps
  25. Sad, sad news indeed. One of the Greats.
