  1. Hi The scene to me is the total package, I love the Oldies, The Stompers, The 100 M.P.H. Dancers, and the New stuff. I think that the core records that turned us all onto the scene will appeal to new ears. If we want the Rare Soul Scene to survive, we have to live in the past to enable us to have a future. The Brilliant records that have been found over the years deserve their place, and must NOT be forgotten. In short, "Are 'oldies' Fans Living In The Past" Yes, Thankyou Very Much, and Enjoying Every Minute Of It.
  2. Hi There are so many brilliant records out there, not all have a high price tag. It just goes to show, there are quality sounds that can be purchaced quite cheaply. I must admit, I originally bought this record for the "I Can't Change Side" However, more recently I have played the B Side more and more. A double sider that's a must have for the collection.
  3. Hi Yvonne Baker, Brilliant Record, came out twice & had the mistitled B Side "Broken Pieces"
  4. Hi Very sad, to hear this, at such a young age too. He was in "Standing In The Shadows Of Motown" "Reach Out I'll Be There", "Shotgun" Someone has already made a tribute video on youtube (Mr A.J.Smith)
  5. Hi I Just love - Maurice & The Radiants - Baby You've Got It - Chess One of those gotta have records that ain't gonna break the bank Awesome!
  6. Hi Try This Link I'm Sorry, I can't offer any further help with ths one.
  7. Hi Mark Top double sider, does this still get played, If not It should The O'Jays "Working On Your Case" / "Hold On"
  8. HI Yes, the Soul Train clip was awesome, shame they deleted It. There was also a brilliant Version of "I Couldn't Believe It" by David Ruffin & Eddie Kendricks that was also removed recently.
  9. Hi Girth Although I can't help with the Albums you have mentioned. What a good Idea - ".....how about an album sleeve swapshop !!!" I hope you are successful in finding them.
  10. Hi Paul, Hi Simon The White DEMO is Original, I bought It from Soul Bowl. dionn 508 It has the correct marks in the Deadwax @ 6 O'Clock = "D - MOS - 1" @ 3 O'Clock = "LW" @ 2 O'Clock = "B F" @ 1 O'Clock = "A" --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I can't remember where I bought the Stock Copy but It only has "D MOS 1" scratched in the Deadwax. I therefore question It's Authenticity, It is also a lighter shade of Orange. However even though the Deadwax Isn't pitted as described in the Bootleg Guide. It is almost certainly a BOOT. ------------* BOOT * 00000000000----00000000 - (Pauls Copy)----- (Pauls Copy) ----> It can be difficult to tell with the dionn Label BUT YOU CAN SEE THAT THE ORANGE LABEL IS A LIGHTER SHADE WHEN COMPARED TO PAULS COPY --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Another that I bought from Soul Bowl, and is the previous number. dionn 507 The Deadwax follows a similar pattern regarding the matrix @ 6 O'Clock = "D - BTA - 9" @ 3 O'Clock = "LW" --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I Hope That This Helps
  11. Hi When I sold my Mint "Styrene" Stock Copy, I also sold a Mint Sue 4040 - Jackie Day "Before It's Too Late" Ouch! Not one of my best decisions. It was the 70's but I think I only sold them for a few quid. Look at todays prices.
  12. Thanks John
  13. Hi Pete I can't argue with the raised "X" in the Deadwax. My Green Stock Copy was "Styrene" I thought that they all were. After checking Manships Bootleg Guide, you're right, the "Styrene" copies are Detroit Issues. The Original Stock Copies did come out on a Light Green Label and an Orange Label, Vinyl. My appologies, I was wrong, but this record is such a Minefield for collectors. I will double check next time, but I'm tired, I've just finished a Night Shift .... Sorry.
  14. Hi Thanks for confirming that and completing the story on one of the more complex records to collect. I was completely lost when It came to Information on the Orange Stock Copy. This release has had more variations than most., purchase with extreme care, If you want a real one.
  15. Hi Yes, he did https://www.raresoulforum.co.uk/jm_auction....xt&num=1793 It has got to be the Rarest version, he says It is the only White DEMO he has had with the Parker Street Detroit address. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is the more common White DEMO Design, but still difficult to find. - My copy with the "Distributed by ATCO RECORD SALES CO." ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Rare one recently Auctioned on Manship's, with the Detroit address. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Green Stock Copy, with the Detroit address. "Styrene" With raised "X" in the Deadwax - POPSIKE More scans and Info at, WWW.POPSIKE.COM This is just like the Stock Copy I sold, The White DEMO's are nice to own, but there is something about the Green Stock Copy that is so desirable. It is difficult with so many other boots of this. The best advice is to buy from a reputable dealer such as Manship if you want to be sure. or a reputable collector who knows their stuff. I don't think that the White DEMO has ever been booted, whereas the Stock Copy has. I hope that this helps. PS I don't have any Information on the Orange Label, so I couldn't tell you when they were Issued and If they are Genuine reissues or not. * (I believe the Green Stock Copies on Vinyl are Boots.) * Please Read On- As I got this bit wrong I have edited this, as I do not want to mislead anyone that doesn't read further into the post
  16. Hi I used to have the Green Stock Copy with the raised "X" in the Deadwax. When I bought the DEMO I sold the Green Stock Copy, which is something that I now regret and wish I had kept it. I suppose we've ALL sold records in the past and now wish that we hadn't. Mint clean Green Stock Copies are extremely difficult to find nowadays, the White DEMO is also difficult. Since I sold the Green Stock Copy, I now try for the DEMO & Stock Copy of records.
  17. Hi Tone I must agree completely with you regarding Paul Williams, what a shame that he has been overlooked for so long, I just couldn't help but search out a copy of "Don't Look Back" after hearing this wonderful performance. Definitely agree, It couldn't have been Improved on by any of the other Temptations on Lead - Perfection.
  18. Hi You're right, It was OK yesterday when I posted the link. It has been removed in the last few hours. That is the second time "Walk Away From Love" has been removed, Shame, they were both great clips. However, I've found another, which should work this time. My Whole World Ended (The Moment You Left Me) However, I've found another, which should work this time ----------------------------------- Walk Away From Love
  19. Hi I know that they're not his early stuff, but these two clips are my favourites which I posted in Media Section a while back.
  20. Hi I remember It well, Jessops, John Colier (Arndale Centre) - Happy Days One of the mates was a bit older than us used to go mad with the Pockets and the amount of buttons on the sleeves. He used to go to the Attic etc. Another mate Mick always had a suit on as I recall, I can't remember him wearing anything else, always a suit when we went out. We used to wear our suits even sometimes when on the scooter. I remember getting 2 Ben Sherman shirts with pleats down the back, Still got them in the loft good as new. A couple of wrangler denim shirts with pearl buttons and an old style Levi Shirt. I found a couple of shirts in the loft the other year one with a Samanthas patch still on the pocket, sadly the only thing that came close to still fitting me would be the patch.
  21. Hi Steve Thanks for the Info, much appreciated
  22. Hi Steve I had heard that, Is it confirmed as really him?
  23. Hi Steve I have had these years, but only recently, to my shame, discovered the wonderful "I'm Sitting In" - What a great track this is, and a brilliant Double Sider.
  24. Hi This is the Original DEMO, I have the other copy, when I find It I will scan It in, unless someone else beats me to It. ....."Styrene" - I have given the Deadwax Details on the DEMO PMB 27815 - AS - 1 - 1 - 1 "Bell Sound" SR ("PR" - Opposite main Matrix) Incidently at Popsike.com I notice a few that I think are all original, they just look like they were made at different pressing plants with slightly different labels. The "Bell Sound" Stamp is mentioned in the write up on some of these. The copy that is very much in doubt is, as I remember, just yellow or beige with black writing. Uses the same design, I think It's Vinyl, I will confirm when I find It.. I hope that this helps
  25. Hi My DEMO is also Multi-Coloured.
