  1. Hi Andy It's Not Vinyl but try this Link to Curtis Mayfield Performing. Which includes Move On Up, Live. & Curtis Mayfield Live At Ronnie Scott's It's been in the Media Source Section a few months now, so you may have already seen it.
  2. I think, that If it was still possible, and it obviously isn't. Any venue with David Ruffin or Jackie Wilson on the bill, would be sold out in the blink of an eye. Sadlly this can't happen, but fortunately they have left us with some awesome Video and Audio performances. My Vote would ultimately have to go to these two gentleman, masters of their craft.
  3. Hi Pete I reckon that you could well be right about the Fatman At The Go-Go / Working At The Go-Go DEMO In answer to your other questions, 1) I do have quite a large collection of Northern Originals, I used to spend nearly all of my wages when I was single. I bought every week from Soul Bowl and made quite a few trips to Kings Lynn during the 70's There are still quite a number of Items that I haven't got even though I did rather nievely try for the lot. I ended up with most of the ones in top 500 book, not all, but a lot are DEMO & Stock Copies where possible I am still collecting, but nothing like the volume that I bought in my youth. The scans that are either NOT original or not my scan I will say when I post. Other than that they are all currently in my collection and are Original. Hopefully I can help other collectors with Information & Matrix Numbers etc 2) I scan my records in and then use a freeware program called XnView I can rotate the image, cut at 1:1 ratio and resize to 300 or more recently 200. This keeps every image neat and uniform. I now use 200 to save my web space where I host the images. I only scan larger when It is required for instance I have just scanned quite a few at 300 D.P.I. for "There's That Beat!" Magazine. Any time I can help with Information I will. Although when it comes to valuing a record I rely on Manship's Price Guide / Popsike etc -I sort of work out for myself what I think a realistic price would be. I hope this helps, and answers your question.
  4. Hi It's got to be worth more than the DEMO, I got my copies from Soul Bowl. The one thing I don't know is, just how many Stock Copies escaped from being withdrawn. The other question I would like to know is, has anyone seen a DEMO for Fatman At The Go-Go / Working At The Go-Go?
  5. Hi Pete I asked this before, definitely Rare on Stock Copy >> Link << There are a few DEMO's about, but Stock Copy, mmm?
  6. Hi The Monday Is Instrumental Feature has prompted me to ask. Which came first / Released First Originally, The Instrumental or The Vocal. There are many examples, I have listed a few; There are many more, but do we have a definitive answer on any or all of these records / others?. In many cases the Instrumental stands up Equally as Well as the Vocal and Visa Versa. Obviously some like I Belong To You or Love Bound Were released after the event with our scene in mind The Gallop / I Belong To You & I Can't Give Up On Losing You / Love Bound
  7. No problem mate, Sadly due to this news, your post was required for everyone to pay their respects. Without someone like Ruth Brown, things would have been more difficult for others to follow. Ruth Brown R.I.P. LINK__Website (Jim Lowe) Pictures Of Her Performing 18 December 1997 Biog Agency
  8. Hi So sad to hear this News. Another Great from the Early Days, Gone. R.I.P. Ruth Brown - Mama He Treats Your Daughter Mean Certainly Not Forgotten, (we appear to have two threads on this). She was one of the Early Pioneers of R&B, Paved the way for many.

  17. Hi Ted I bought this from Soul Bowl in the 70's, and it does have DISTRIBUTED BY CHESS PRODUCING CORP - - CHICAGO. ILL 60616 In Pink at the bottom of the label. John Manship had one on auction quite recently Recent Auction 1899 ------ It is the same as my copy. I just wondered if there was a White DEMO? as I haven't seen one And I seem to remember a rare Dark Pink Issue being mentioned, possibly a one off.
  18. Hi Paul Here's the Link to that story Post #16 - (John Manship)
  19. Hi -Brilliant Record, Always will be. Is there a White DEMO ? Also I seem to remember seeing one with a rare DARK PINK label? (Possibly a One Off)
  20. Hi All I am currently looking at a few bits that I have twice. Currently selling on ebay More to follow in the next few days
  21. Hi Malc Yes, I remember Peter Halls, still got a couple of lists somewhere. They used to have records in a Box with wire running through the center to stop any going missing. I well remember finding a couple of cracked Mirwoods in their covers, that someone had deliberately snapped. What about Fields, Bradleys. Remember all of the Import L.P.s upstairs in Bradleys? I found "Symphony For Soul" The Total Eclipse - "Fused" - The Mike Post Coalition.
  22. Hi Malc You're right about them being clued up. When Cool Jerk was re-issued on the Atlantic-Action Replay, I went to buy a copy, they said to me, Hang on we still have a couple of copies left on Red Atlantic, which I Instantly purchaced. You don't tend to find knowledge like that anymore.
  23. Hi Malc I do remember seeing a couple of Red Label Grapevine 12" Singles in Fox's Record Shop, Doncaster. I can't remember what music genre they were though.
  24. Hi Here we go then, The Backstabbers Unfortunately Angie Stone has been removed from YouTube, SHAME. So we'll have another O'Jays
