  1. Hi Sean We're thinking along similar lines here. Frankie could have been used in the recording Studio. The Voice does appear to be Female though
  2. Hi Malc I must admit to thinking the same, regards Frankie Lymon, but listening to the Lyrics of "What Shall I do", I then wondered if Frankie is a Female. as I think it is sung from a Female perspective.
  3. Hi Chalky I wonder if these were the only three tracks recorded by them, tried twice with the two different A Sides. Different takes with the B Side regarding the Intro. For the same release number - C-127 / C-0127 I Only Have Eyes For You - What Shall I Do GOOD-BYE LOVE (Hello Sadness) - What Shall I Do It also gets a release in the UK SEEMS A BIT STRANGE THAT WE DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THEM Teddy Vann connection - They may be one of those groups that kept changing names, I would have thought that we would recognise that voice though
  4. Happy New Year!
  5. Hi All You probably know already but Sam Moore is on Jools Holland Show, Now
  6. A Swop Shop, sounds good alongside sales & wants
  7. RE: "and a short intro on calla with i only have eyes on the A" Thanks for confirming the Short Intro, I wasn't sure, something at the back of my mind told me one existed but I wouldn't have known for certain.
  8. Hi Pete Fair point, I have quite a few with Graffiti on/Sticker Marks etc. As time marches on, Mint Records are more and more elusive
  9. Hi Mel It doesn't bore me Mate. I think that English Collections have Major Appeal. I'm often astounded at just what did get released over here in the UK One recent conversation I had on another forum - "HitsvilleSoulClubOfAmerica" - was, did "There Ain't Nothing I Wouldn't Do For You" - DEE DEE SHARP ever come out on British. Looks like you had one of the Best English Collections that I've heard of. I got lucky with some British finds, but nothing like the ones you have described
  10. Thanks for Posting the Scan. I wonder how many records are thought to exist I've been looking through records in second hand shops, car boots etc for 38 years Normally would have bought a record like this blind in the early days of collecting British. That's how I got my Kiki Dee "On A Magic Carpet Ride" on Fontana. I just can't remember seeing one, or records like "A Touch Of Venus" They must be Incredibly Rare.
  11. Wow, I like this

  14. Yes Thanks Shute Shame Felt Pen can't be successfully removed, should still fetch a good price though, I would Imagine.
  15. Hi Pete Thanks for That I've honestly never seen one, this is the other Frankie And The Classicals that I have on Calla Once again "What Shall I Do" Is hidden on The B Side Oh! Yes, and It doesn't have the Spoken Intro Ain't it strange that UK Philips appears to have used the A & B Side from the 1st Calla and then used the Non Spoken Intro. Personally, I like both Versions, but I wonder if it was Intentional
  16. Thanks Sean, So desirable on Philips Never ever seen one, as you say Nice!
  17. Hi Dave I know that this may be wrong, but I instantly thought about Rain "Out Of My Mind", wasn't that first Issued in Canada. It was obviously issued in the States though and may not fit the "Soul" criteria
  18. No Problem Mate, anytime. One thing I've just thought about, On Calla it is the B Side to "I Only Have Eyes For You" Those wonderful B Sides I think that this might be the coupling on UK Philips, but again I'm not sure about the Philips.
  19. Hi Mel This a a Scan from my collection, unfortunately I never managed a UK Philips copy. It has the Spoken Intro - Not sure about the UK Philips regarding the Intro What Shall I Do (Spoken) - Frankie And Classicals - 1159 refosoul
