  1. Hi One of the best, in it's own way. Tony & Tyrone - Please Operator. Captured the essence of a phone call, dialling tones and all. Brilliant ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Brrrrrrring, "Hello" "Hi Baby It's Me And I'm On The Way" ...... "WHAT!" "Man If I Don't Ever See You Again It'll Be Too Soon, ....... You've Stayed Away Too Long" ... "I've Packed"
  2. Hi Jerry I bought all three of these, via the Soul Bowl list in the 70's, at the time of their release. I realise that it doesn't answer your question, as the other label version could have been done first, or followed this release. Either way I have scanned them for Comparison. Get It Off My Conscience - The Lovelites - 5643 refosoul All Three have "Jason Sean Music" on the Credits. I hope that In some way this helps. My first assumption was that the first batch may have got the credits wrong, given that the song is incorrectly titled, and it is just a guess. The reason: If a later press required the change of credit from "Jason Sean Music" to "Chappell & co", would they then get the title wrong? but then ..... Having said that they do sing "Get Him Off My Conscience", could it be the other way around? Intriguing. Both titles appear on Manships site >>> Link <<< I wonder if John might know.
  3. Hi Jo No problem, anytime. I originally bought this for the A Side "I Can't Change" which I still love. Today, I too adore "Mend The Torn Pieces" - It's a fantastic record. It did of course get a later issue on Junior 1071 with a slight change to the Credits. The Sensations with Yvonne Baker changed to Yvonne Baker & The Sensations. Produced By Kae Williams. appeared on the Label. So nice to know who helped to create this Masterpiece
  4. Hi Miff Well what about this. I had a quick look on >>> Popsike <<< - Popsike.com

  6. Hi Miff I haven't got either ........ Yet! You're right always seems to be DEMO's ....... However I have a feeling that I may have seen a scan of a Stock Copy on the Internet .... somewhere. but I can't be 100% certain.
  7. Hi Miff I've always loved this one by Thelma Houston, Top Sound Here's Two from RCA For me these two, just like Thelma Houston - Baby Mine, were Instant, I still love them today. I remember when Lorraine Chandler had just started to be played in the 70's I cycled 20 miles round trip, just so I could get a copy to play that night, and it was on OOTP. Happy Days. I Cant Hold On - Lorraine Chandler - If You Loved Me - Peggy March -
  8. I didn't buy it for this side, but it's good to see her perform. Not a bad record either.

Mend The Torn Pieces - Yvonne Baker And The Sensation - 8875 refosoul
  19. Hi Mark Here is one from the early days, that really started a trend of turn the record over and try the B Side. Although the A Side is just another Dance Craze of the time, the B Side is a timeless classic. At The Discotheque - Chubby Checker - 3080 refosoul
  20. Hi Rachel I'll look forward to that, I have thought for a while that there was something quite sepecial about the B Side. There have been many hidden Northern Gems, waiting for us to discover over the years. My theory is that the B Sides sort of slid through the net, while the attention was focussed on the A Side. Allowing an Artistic wonderland for Artists, writers, producers etc to flourish. I tried a similar thread to this the other week >>> Link <<< It will be a very interesting soundfile thread Give The Man A Chance - Soul Twins - 1777 refosoul Here's just one, of the B Sides "Give The Man A Chance" which has become one of the best Double Siders, ever.
