  1. Hi I was under the Impression that it was the code for the Country of release.
  2. Hi Pete Sounds like a Good Idea to me
  3. Hi I just love the RCA Victor Stock Copies, I have The Bobbettes, but not Robert Walker, only on DEMO, Never Seen a Stock Copy .... Ever Until Now
  4. Hi One record that I will buy when I have the funds, brilliant record. I believe there are many different original press/label colours & boots though. Sorry I can't help, but would be Interested to know the different issues, Original etc.
  5. Hi Pete Yes, it certainly looks that way.
  6. Hi Here is the Boot -------------* BOOT * -------------* BOOT * * BOOT * "RO-702-2978-" & A REVERSED "76" * BOOT * Have a look at the other side it has "LA Cindy 225 A" scribbled out at the side of the matrix.
  7. Hi Macca Recent Thread about this record >>> Link <<<
  8. Hi Dave When Soul Bowl was selling in the 70's some of the records, were listed as copies from Lorraine Chandlers own Garage. I believe "What Can I Do" on Giant was one. I would have thought that if John Anderson was in contact with Lorraine at the time other Memorabilia must be out there, such as Pictures etc. >>> Prestatyn 2005 <<< By John Smith
  9. Hi Thanks, that would explain a lot.
  10. Hi Another B Side Anyone know if a Stock Copy exists for Tobi Legend. I have scanned the two that I have by her, both have the same B Side "HEARTBREAKER". I guess that these were the only three tracks cut as Tobi Legend ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have had a look on Popsike, where I noticed this DEMO, which is slightly different to the others, but No Stock Copy. Popsike.Com If the same applies with this, as with Morris Chestnut, it would appear that two different pressing plants were involved. One copy having the AMY or MALA before the Number & the other just having the Number. Morris Chestnut as we know, did have a Blue Stock Copy. There are two DEMO's, one of which does look like a Stock Copy from the "TOO DARN SOULFUL" side. However, it has "PLUG SIDE" on the "YOU DON'T LOVE ME ANYMORE" Side. 981 Is a styrene Monarch & Delta # 65704 on one side & 65704-X the other. The strange thing is (considering that the other DEMO has the Labels Reversed) is that the PLUG SIDE has 65704-X. The -X following a Delta Number, normally denotes the B Side? AMY 981 is Styrene with a "B" Matrix STAMPED in the Deadwax Has the Labels Reversed The Blue Label AMY Stock copy is the rarest and hardest to obtain. A Friend of mine had this years ago, the only time I've seen one, other than a scan. I've got both DEMO's in the collection, the Blue AMY Stock Copy is virtually impossible, hope you find one. The Blue AMY scan below is from Popsike.com https://www.popsike.com/php/quicksearch.php...x=0&y=0 IT'S ALWAYS WORTH A LOOK ON POPSIKE.COM WHEN VALUING RECORDS
  11. Hi Mel I have only just seen this Post, here is a scan of "Don't Cry Sing Along With The Music" Don't Cry Sing Along With The Music - Melba Moore - Musicor - 6210 refosoul
  12. Hi Yes I believe they did, here is one of their other records. Baby I Don't Need Your Love - The Chants - RCA Victor - 2988 refosoul
  13. Unsatisfied - Lou Johnson - Big Top - 8606 refosoul Magic Potion - Lou Johnson - Big Top - 5603 refosoul Reach Out For Me - Lou Johnson - Big Top - 5606 refosoul
  14. Failing this, I'd like a Time Machine back to Soul Bowl in the 70's, they had everthing ..... & More. Or Thorne in the 80's, 90's
  15. Hi You're right about the Stock Copy, I have never seen one. I have Two DEMO's of this, both like Torvil & Deans practice rink with loads of light scratches. Your Picture On The Wall - Orthea Barnes - 12336 refosoul However they play brilliantly. Yet I have a couple of records that appear MINT visually, but sound terrible. And NO, One of them Isn't a Britney Spears. Still chuckling at that, can't remember which thread though. P.S. Found It, Quote of 2006, Thanks Sean , >>> Link <<< "that look amazing but sound bloody awful.... Sort of a vinyl equivalent of Brittney Spears!"
  16. Thanks Again, It's so good to see all of the Versions.
  17. Hi Now that is RARE, Here are the other labels. You Got To Pay The Price - Gloria Taylor - 13327 refosoul
  18. Hi Dave Thanks for the Information, so good to hear of chance meetings like this when trying to pieces things together.
  19. As this JUNIOR 1010 has YVONNE BAKER & THE SENSATIONS, Instead of THE SENSATIONS WITH YVONNE BAKER I take it that it has "MEND THE BROKEN PIECES" on the B Side I have never owned or seen this version of the Junior 1010 on a Stock Copy, even though I had heard that it existed, Thanks for posting it.
  20. Always liked this, never did get a copy though. ....... Yet
  21. I have mentioned this before, check out the comments on this >>> Link <<< Does this suggest that The Show Stoppers & The Four Perfections are the same group.
  22. Hi All I have just had a look on Popsike.Com Popsike.Com --------------------------------------------------- Popsike.Com It would appear that as with GW-27, there are copies about with the DEMO sticker, but no White DEMO
  23. Brilliant, and colourful too ....... Here's Another
  24. I went to see Jimmy James Locally in the 70's, enjoyed his performance, we went to have a word with him after the show. Always liked "A Man Like Me". It certainly filled the Dance Floor at the time. It's Not Rare, but It still Deserves it's place in any Northern collection. A Man Like Me - Jimmy James - Stateside - 4914 refosoul
  25. There were exceptions, but I've often wondered why U.K. Labels in the 60's were not as colourful and Imaginative as the American Labels.
