  2. As soon as I saw the --------------------Disk Jockey ------------------Advance Sample, ----------------------------------It reminded me of this one. Very similar, many Atco / Atlantic subsidiary Labels had a Similar Style. Certainly strange for the actual Atlantic Logo though.
  3. Here is the Original - (scan from Popsike.com) Your copy is the first re-issue (Release Date 25-03-72) One thing that I have noticed is that your re-issue Mentions Veep 1233 on the Label and is Mono, which I suspect the Original United Artists & the Veep Copy are also MONO. -MONO It was re-issued again on the B Side of "Better Use Your Head" but in STEREO, whether the mix is different in any other way I'm not too sure. -STEREO The Veep V-1233 & V-1228 Stock copy are Valued at £30 in Manships 3rd Edition. The Value of your "Gonna Fix You Good" re-issue £5 TO £10 I think, and it does have the original B Side. The original on United Artists is a lot rarer and more expensive - MANSHIP currently has a copy at £75.

  5. Hi I bought quite a few Soul records from Jumbo Records in the 70's. Labels like, Ric-Tic, Stephanye, Golden World, Love, etc. All ZTSC plus many others.
  6. Hi Mike- Good question, what did happen to those Laser Players and were they ever cheap enough to be a realistic option. I always rather hoped that they would be, one day. I did a quick search and found this >>> LINK <<< Surely they could be made cheaper than that.
  7. While we're with Nostalgia, Anyone from Yorkshire remember these. I was looking for my Selectadisc Bag and found these.
  8. Hi Mark You're right, getting a bit tired now though, I'm a Night worker you see. Once I get reading the posts on here, time marches on.
  9. Never managed to get "The Servicemen" unfortunately. Managed quite a few of the others though, including the Cool Off Test Pressing. It was very much a level playing field, relying on the Postman bringing the list early enough etc.
  10. Hi Mark I remember that very well, and those dial up phones. I'm sure I could have phoned that number in the dark if necessary. Over and over all weathers to the phone box, queue outside, worse still, if I was outside waiting. Engaged, reciever down try straight away, again and again until you got through just to be told, as you say "sorry it's gone" Happy Days indeed. Especially when you got a result.
  11. Hi Pete Yes, John was always helpful & I knew him quite well too. Visited on many occasions, & bought from the weekly lists by phone.
  12. No problem, I will try to find a couple of the Global Lists later. Here is Soul Bowl List Number 522 - 15 May 1984 A few on here Cool Off - Autographed Test Pressing, Frank Dell, Thelma Lindsey, Silky Hargreaves, Rose Batiste, Eula Cooper, Jock Mitchell etc, etc.
  13. Here is the third one I pulled out of the box. Soul Bowl - April 1984 - List 515 Page 4 & 5 As the first page always said "ALL ORIGINALS NO BOOTLEGS" I promised myself that I wouldn't pick and choose, these were the first three lists that were at the top when I opened the box from the loft. Amazing, It was like this every week, I was like a kid in a Sweet Shop. Kept me skint at the time though.
  14. Here is the second one I pulled out of the box. Soul Bowl - February 1984 - List 510 Page 2, 4 & 5 Just look at the bottom of Page 2 "Timeless Legend" £5.00 And The Tokays Baby, Baby, Baby on BRUTE £8.00 Candi Staton on Unity £25.00 As the first page always said "ALL ORIGINALS NO BOOTLEGS"
  15. Here is the first one I pulled out of the box, quite late considering as I had been getting the Lists for about 10 years by this time. Soul Bowl - August 1983 - List 484 Page 2 & 3
  16. Hi Tony I have some Global Lists in the Loft, along with my Groove City / Soul Bowl Lists. The Global List was a very thin yellow paper, one record that I do remember on it was the Original Duke Browner - "Crying Over You" - on Impact - Only about 10p more than other places were selling the Boot for if I remember correctly. I'll try to scan a couple in.
  17. Hi Simon Thanks for posting, not many of these Stock Copies about. Good to see a scan, might be the only time I'll ever see one. One of the Rarest out there ............ Somewhere I wonder how many they actually made. Gotta be three figures or less, at the pressing plant.
  18. Yes, It does exist, first time I've EVER seen one. Manships Latest Auction >>> LINK <<<

  24. Hi Manships 3rd Edition had It @ £50 DEMO ---------------------------& £100 Stock Copy I haven't seen a Stock Copy but have seen the DEMO recently for sale around that price. There is of course a 4th Edition, it MAY have it at a different Value. Not everyones favourite record, but I love it. Out Of My Mind - Rain - Bell - 7140 refosoul This is a relatively recent purchase of mine, most of my records I bought in the 70's. I paid £50 for my copy, about 2 Years ago.
