  1. Hi Russ No Problem, however, I have been trying to remember when they re-issued A Case Of Love, I seem to remember them using the original Master and plates for the Vocal Side. Highly unusual for a Monarch, I don't think any others were. I have it somewhere i'll have a look.
  2. I Like Music, Various Types, can appreciate why someone else holds a tune close to their heart even if it isn't quite to my taste. I love Soul Music What I don't like is when it is brought up in conversation, and for instance a Rock Music Fan dismisses Soul Music as utter rubbish completely out of hand.. Almost like they fear it, before they're prepared to hear it. Their Loss.
  3. Thanks Dante I will always try to help anyone who has a question, and share any Information I have. If I'm not sure about something I will say so. I have been ripped off a few times along the way, and missed big money sounds through lack of knowledge when starting out, I remember what it's like paying good money for a dud, so I will always help with matrix info etc. I eventually found a trusted Source and bought my records there. That place was Soul Bowl and anyone who went will tell you, John Anderson had so many Original records in one place, you could only dream about today. There are many other members more knowledgable than me, that is the beauty about forums like Soul Source, & Hitsville Soul Club, Together, sharing knowledge about the Music we all love.
  4. No problem, I am attempting to scan most of them. Hope to keep things fresh though, I try not to post the same stuff over and over but some records are classics and tend to get talked about more. Fortunately I realised that I only touched the surface on rare soul records, Virtually Impossible to get the lot, fun trying though, there are tens of thousands out there, I love most Soul Music, Love the Friday thread for hearing different sounds, and have discovered many now on my wants list. I'm still collecting but at a much slower pace than in the 70's.
  5. Hi Arnie J I am in the process of Cataloging them, I'm up to £3000 Soul Records listed at the Moment, most bought via Soul Bowl. Still a few to list, but you have to remember I bought the majority years ago in the 70's spent most of my wages at the time. I had this quest to try for DEMO and Stock Copy on as many as I could afford, hence the multiple copies.
  6. Hi Dave No Problem Mate, anytime.
  7. Hi Sorry it turned out to be a BOOT but it does pay to be certain, as Originals could turn up in a collection 25+ Years old.
  8. Hi Beat me to it Chunky, also had a legitimate re-issue on Phil l.a. of Soul Mark, how certain are you that yours is a BOOT, has it a different Label Variation to Our Copies. Reason I'm asking the Stock Copy has an East Coast Multicoloured Stock Copy and a West Coast Black with Silver Writing. I'm sort of wondering if there are 2 Landa Demos, but obviously I am only assuming that there may be. I'm not sure if this was Booted, I got these from Soul Bowl, but as I say as there is an East Coast / West coast Stock Copy, so ? Hopefully someone will know.
  9. Hi Dante I am looking into this, as you know we are taking a closer look at a few labels on Hitsville and Golden World is one of them, thanks once again for your Information on the Ric-Tic Label, piecing together Information from many sources helped us to almost complete the Label Information for Ric-Tic. We are currently compiling Label Scans for Carnival, Ric-Tic, Revilot, Mirwood, Golden World, & Loma. It is an ongoing project, any help is most appreciated and Credit noted. Any Information such as GW-17/18 , ZTSC/Bell Sound - I'm hoping to Include. I will try to find something out, Dave Flynns site is excellent and provides extensive Information on the 60's Monarch numbers etc. the GW 17 & 18 Bell Sound / Columbia is Unusual, gotta be a reason, are there other unfortunatelly as the years go by Information on these labels fades into the mist of time, and we have no option other than to guess. INFORMATION on the 70's Monarch numbers has recently been requested on a Soul Source post, I'm not sure if anyone has compiled it yet though. >>> LINK <<<
  10. Hi Nev I will check my copy, I'm at work tonight but I can look tomorrow.
  11. Very sad news, R.I.P.
  12. Hi Malc I never thought that I would be caught by one of these, However when I was selling a few Pop 45's on ebay last year, I came home from nights, tired, & message from ebay member regarding Item # was in my Inbox. (didn't notice it wasn't about one of my listings) I opened it and through habit I suppose entered my ebay details to view. Soon woke up to what was happening and changed my password details. Trouble was when I contacted ebay they said, Check that you haven't a keystroke virus which could mean that they had my new changed password too. Now fully awake and seething I spent most of the morning scanning my computer. Fortunately I had been lucky but there are a few words for the authors of these emails and to use them would possibly get me banned from Soul Source.
  13. Hi I definitely bought the two DEMOs and the Roy Handy Stock Copy from Soul Bowl. One of the Shirley Scott, Dark Green Stock copies came from Jumbo Records in Leeds (70's) along with other Ric-Tic, Love, Stephanye STP-335, etc. All of which are Originals, The Shirley Scott does have a "badly stuck on label" but it is Styrene and the ZTSC markings, look the same as the White DEMO. Petes Copy Intregued me as to why different Shades of Green. Anyone Know.
  14. Hi Pete Yes it does, looks exactly the same shade. Strange thing is I have two copies on the Dark Green, and yours was the first time I had seen it on Pale Green, I was going to bid on your copy as I hadn't seen one before.
  15. Hi Pete These are both Styrene, didn't you recently have the pale green copy Pete, same shade of green as the Roy Handy copy.
  16. Hi Tony Will look out for this records, Thanks. Van McCoy, when did he find the time to sleep, he was Involved with so many records in one way or another, A Musical Genius. In the Early days, I loved the record first and then noticed it was in some way connected to Van McCoy. His work features in many of my most treasured, favourite tunes.
  17. Hi Simon The >>> LINK <<< as promised, a bit further back than I thought, plus It's a third take. It does mention your copy in the write up. Manships 3rd Edition has the Stock Copy at £600 The copy with the Pink A on "My Heart's So Full Of You" at £450 The copy with the Pink A on "I'm Gonna Love You A Long, Long Time" at £300
  18. I think Manshiip Auctioned one recently, I'm off out to work now, but will search for the Link in the Morning. Within the Last 12 months, I think.
  19. Not every day that you see a Stock Copy for this, Very Nice.
  20. Hi Simon I think that yours is the Rarer Original Version, with the Original A Side repromoted as "I'm Gonna Love You A Long Long Time" A Side at the time of release.
  21. There is some nice stuff on Canadian Tamla, noticable as they kept the U.S.A. number, in this case S-35006 Normally a higher Quality Vinyl press. The Later Canadian Motown are on the Tamla_Motown Label.
  22. Hi A very nice DEMO and one that shouldn't have it's sticker removed on this occassion. The Price definitely not as much as it ought to be, A very desirable Item. Money / Value isn't the be all and end all. I saw this and made a bid, but the listing had just finished, missed it, my copy has a sticker too, but yours is neater. I would happily pay £20 for it, even though it did sell in great number, you just don't see the DEMO every day.
  23. Hi Tony Thanks, I will search for that one. I love the Van McCoy stuff.
  24. You're Right, I do. I was just looking at the JZSP, ZSP & the copy with SP. (Printers error?) perhaps the first copies after the DEMO run and someone forgot to change the Matrix to ZSP.
  25. Everybody Loves A Good Time - Major Lance - OKeh -
