I compare listening to our music, to listening to The Classics. Because they are Classics, we discovered them earlier than other people, and that's it really. In years to come, others, somewhere will be doing the same. As it is with the classics, Whichever way you enjoy them is a personal thing. Some go to listen to the music others listen at home or in the car Some put on the wig and pretend conduct the orchestra with the baton. Each in their own way love the music, the scene, Our Scene.
  2. Hi I would also say that the Stock Copy takes some finding, I used to have a Stock Copy in the 70's but sold it The 3rd Edition has it at £400 but doesn't specify DEMO or Stock Copy and of course there is now the 4th Edition. Either copy is a Once in a lifetime find, a brilliant record too.
  3. Hi Mark Agree about the Playlist, what a shame that in 2007 we can't have the freedom to play without the constraint of such on a Major Radio Station. Look forward to the next two shows, however, sad that it is the final two.
  4. The B.B.C. found their way to host a few shows during the Year & New Year one off. "All Singing, All Dancing, All Night" How about a regular weekly Show for a couple of hours like Soul Shack All Year. Missed Opportunity Beeb. All these Radio Stations, They play music 24 Hours a Day, but somehow manage to neglect the Best Music ever made. Strange.
  5. I've just found my old Samanthas Badge, still sewn to the Shirt. Not that the shirt fits me anymore. It might have to be framed, Happy Days. I can't quite remember which was my last All Nighter, Cleethorpes or Samanthas.
  6. This is a difficult area, if we are to call them pressings then we would or should know. If we call them Boots then ebay pulls the listing. The Set Sale idea sounds good, no attempt to have a Boot spiraling out of control up to the Value of a Genuine Original. The 70's Soul Sounds as John mentions, have become collectable over the years. I wonder if Other repro's come under the same scrutiny on ebay. i.e. Someone saying "Don't Buy That Mate, it ain't an Antique" Much in the way of Retro Fashion has been produced over the years Antique looking or 50's Style etc I suppose it comes down to the description. We do need a term used to let all know that they are Boot's without ebay pulling the plug. "Pressing" is as good as any term to my way of thinking. There is a Market, if the buyer knows exactly what is on offer then ...... and In the case of the the Soul Sounds Label etc it might be exactly what the buyer is looking for.

I don't ever remember this being cheap, In the 70'S on one of my many trips to Soul Bowl I saw one being purchased for £50. A lot of money in those days and compared to the others on sale at the time it stood out as Rare.
  12. It is S**T!! , but on the other hand, I wonder if it get's "Sweeter As The Days Go By"
  13. OK then if you have the TIME you could possibly make one. >>> LINK <<< Larger Image if required >>> LINK <<<
  14. WAIT A MINUTE IT'S SECOND HAND TOO

Hi John I've always thought of them as Previously Unissued, they have that Mirwood Sound which would be hard to reproduce. If they were Tailor Made someone should get them back in the Studio. He did Include Soul Fox as Arranger Though, probably being mischievious. I have always loved "Let Me Do It".
  16. Definitely, "What Can A Man Do??" equally as good if not better, and earns it's Double A Side Status.
  17. Thanks Mike An Excellent Job, Refosoul can't wait for Friday.

Thanks, I suppose it's the men in suits trying to control things, rather than the records artistic content. It's Good that the DJ's of the time flexed a bit of muscle and played worthwhile sides, as opposed to what they were told to. We have a radio staion playing at work, same old same old day in day out. All Chart Stuff. I love music, but you can almost set your watch to certain records been played. I had assumed that the Double Sided or Single Sided Disk used for DEMO's was a method of control, However I honestly didn't realise that the 60's DJ's could play what they wanted to play.
  19. Hi Pete It was a while since I changed mine & I have Installed a few Plugins/Addons on Firefox, I think it was one called >>> Firebug <<< that caused the Problem.

Yes, Interesting that they opted for a White DEMO when promoting this. Such an eye catching Label, possibly would have been a candidate for a Coloured DEMO. The White v's Coloured DEMO has always Intrigued me. Some Labels tried both options of course. also, I think that "Fool To Fool" is the Original "A Side" as the DJ Grafitti & Sticker is on that side. Having said that "I'm Sitting In" has the earlier Matrix number. -< 1028 -< 1027 I wonder if DJ's of the Day ever flipped the discs over or were stuck to playlists in the 60's.
  21. I prefer to use Firefox too, there are Instances where you have to tweak things a little. On Manships Drop down Auction for Instance, I couldn't listen to sounds with Firefox whereas in Internet Explorer it played them OK. I had to adjust the settings in Firefox to allow them to play.
  22. Hi Ken Top Tune this, I agree her others on Diamond are also worth looking out for.
  23. Brilliant RCA Stock Copy Extremely Rare and sought after. There's just something so Special about the RCA Stock Copies, finding them ain't easy though. Nice European Patti Austin copy too.
  24. Brilliant, love this two giants of music together, thanks for posting, here he is again in Colour. >>> ANY DAY NOW <<< -(Apollo Hall of Fame Concert 1993) Catch it before they remove it, Again ........

Hi I may have to do a bit of tidying before my record storage could hope to be described as messy. They are in sturdy cases, unfortunately 50% in a random order. I have now collated an A TO Z List on Excel. The rest is an ongoing project.
