Here you are Mate. As Pete says we had a couple of Topics about this one recently. Any Information not covered, don't hesitate to ask. Or add to what we already have about this release. >>> VOLCANOS LINK 1 <<< >>> VOLCANOS LINK 2 <<<
  2. Thanks for Posting, I like the Canadian stuff. I would always find a Place in the collection That Precisions on Stone Looks Stunning.
  3. Hi Pete I'm Just about to go out to work, had to watch this though. Amazing, Never seen It before. Thanks.
  4. I will scan the Matrix of Mine, I haven't forgotten. Just got to find my copies, didn't put them back with my other Mirwood when I scanned the Labels a while back..
  5. Thanks Pete. Looks like a Mistake, In house on one of their own presses then. I certainly haven't heard of this "Baby, Do The Philly Dog" / Secret Agents that plays The Duck before. Quite a Rare mispress I would suspect.
  6. So I have gone full circle then, If It was one of their presses I'm sure they didn't normally use it on the Jay Boy stuff.
  7. I don't think so, but having said that I hadn't noticed a Jay Boy until this post. I believe some of the Presidents were repressed in the 70's but had 4 Pronged centres & smooth Label. The Original press had the Anti-Slip raised diamond centre with a rougher texture to the Label. Something in the back of my memory tells me that another 60's press had a similar 3 pronged centre. Who pressed the Doctor Bird & Pyramid Label? they had similar 3 pronged centre
  8. Forgive me for putting NON Soul records up. These were the only two I could find. ----------------------E.M.I.-------------------------------------PHILIPS -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Regarding Jay Boy 56 I Just wonder If something happened around the time of Jay Boy 56 - Jay Boy 58. I have seen a 4 Pronged Jay Boy 56 on another Web Site, which I suspect will be the normal Variation for Jay Boy 56. I'm only guessing, but I suspect that for some reason at the time a batch was pressed elsewhere and by mistake put the wrong Master in the press as the B Side. Jay Boy Records did have a Very Distinctive Press with the Chiseled in Matrix. Normally Solid or 4 Pronged centre.
  9. The B Side on any Monarch has the - X after the Delta Number. I will try to find out which Pressing Plants may have been used besides Monarch. However, If there is a Delta Number Styrene or Vinyl It should have been pressed at Monarch. Trouble is with the Vinyl copies, have they been tampered with. I have a New Scanner, I will try for some scans of the Matrix.

    Neither Have I.
  11. I have Just checked, I haven't a copy of "Baby, Do The Philly Dog" on Jay Boy so I can't help with the Audio on the B Side. In times of high Volume sales different pressing plants were used on quite a few records, creating rarities. Someone on here will no doubt correct me If I'm wrong, and I may well be, but I can't remember seeing one before. However since you have posted this, I have Just Checked on. Popsike.com Jay Boy 58 I still consider this centre Unusual for Jay Boy. The others on Popsike are Solid or 4 Pronged. A similar thing happened with Some of the E.M.I. Labels Columbia, Parlophone, etc during the 60's Pressed at Philips, Pye, Decca but have the E.M.I. Label.
  12. One thing that Instantly struck me is the centre. That looks like a different pressing plant to the norm. I'm pretty sure that the centres were either solid or 4 pronged, if you know what I mean.
  13. Within the Last hour on Sky Sports, I have just heard Billy Butler - Right Track on a Sky related Advert. Just found a >>> LINK <<< on the NET.
  14. Thanks John I always refer to this one. Two different DEMO's one has the B Side the other Double A -------------------STYRENE-----------------------------------VINYL----------------------------------------VINYL -----------------STYRENE----------------------------------STYRENE--------------------------------------STYRENE As Western Movies had been a Hit For them before, I wonder If It was removed from Promotion to Give "Baby, Do The Philly Dog" a better chance.
  15. That may well be the case with 5508 Bobby Garrett I will post up the Matrix Details from my copies.
  16. Hi Rob I Suspect he may have been refering to a Specific Issue. Delta Numbers are most helpful regarding the Date of production. Combined with the Monarch Matrix Stamp MR within the circle and on Styrene this applies. The problem is that some Monarchs are Vinyl and may or maynot have a very good Matrix Stamp MR That is the problem that I have with the Vinyl Purple Label of Jackie Lee - The Duck - 5502. Is It an Original, or has It been etched by someone with the Delta # & Not Forgetting that Other pressing Plants were used to produce the Mirwood Stuff. I will get both my copies of Bobby Garrett and Post the Matrix Details.
  17. There are Styrene Original and Vinyl Originals throughout the Label I have found with Quite a few there are 2 Different DEMO's & with some many different Label Variations. Unfortunately there are counterfeit copies of some. I have tried to cover Most of the Different Label Variations on Hitsville Soulclub. >>> MIRWOOD <<< A project that is still unfinished, but Ongoing. Any missing Mirwood scans welcome, with credit to supplier.
  18. Hi Sean RE: Purple Bobby Garrett I haven't seen one other than a scan on Popsike.com and someone on here has Mentioned that they have a copy. RE: Purple Mirwood I bought the top two from Soul Bowl in the 70's. The Bottom two from ebay in recent years. ----------------------Vinyl-------------------------------------Styrene -From Soul Bowl -From ebay ----------------------Vinyl-------------------------------------Styrene I'm currently looking at the Vinyl Purple Label, the only one I'm not 100% sure with. Looks to be a Vinyl Monarch Delta # 59032 It is a different hand that has Scratched the Delta # on this one to the other Styrene Monarchs which are Monarch Stamped.
  19. My Copies are Styrene Also came out on Purple Label www.popsike.com An Excellent Link for Monarch Delta #'s / Dates and Many More Pressing Plant Details. >>> ANORAKS CORNER <<<
  20. Hi Dave I agree, Nothing on the Original 45 Label, Vinyl or Paper Sleeve. I meant on the Coloured Poly-Lined Cardboard Sleeve. Records & Sleeves are kept Very, Very safe without any Sticky Labels attached by me. The only ones I keep on the Label are the "Chips" Stickers etc. RE: "It goes without saying that all labels should be completely upright within both sleeves" I do this, Labels always the correct way up within the Sleeve.
  21. Powerful Vocals, from an Awesome Lady. I love Big Maybelle's recordings.
  22. The Very Same with my Collection.
  23. RE: "one of those records that you just love" Oh Yes, One of Popcorns finest, he Influenced so many Brilliant Tracks. & That Intro. Perfection. Popcorn Wylie = Genius.
  24. Thanks Pete, I've never noticed anything Audible fault wise on my copy. I am going to check but, that's what leads me to the Test Pressing being pressed after the Green Label Copy. However, It is a while since I have compared all three regarding the Vinyl.
  25. There are two different Label Variations for the "Time Will Pass You By" DEMO ------------------------------------------------------------------------------WWW.POPSIKE.COM In the same way as there are two DEMO's for "Too Darn Soulful"
