  1. Within the Last hour on Sky Sports, I have just heard Billy Butler - Right Track on a Sky related Advert. Just found a >>> LINK <<< on the NET.
  2. Thanks John I always refer to this one. Two different DEMO's one has the B Side the other Double A -------------------STYRENE-----------------------------------VINYL----------------------------------------VINYL -----------------STYRENE----------------------------------STYRENE--------------------------------------STYRENE As Western Movies had been a Hit For them before, I wonder If It was removed from Promotion to Give "Baby, Do The Philly Dog" a better chance.
  3. That may well be the case with 5508 Bobby Garrett I will post up the Matrix Details from my copies.
  4. Hi Rob I Suspect he may have been refering to a Specific Issue. Delta Numbers are most helpful regarding the Date of production. Combined with the Monarch Matrix Stamp MR within the circle and on Styrene this applies. The problem is that some Monarchs are Vinyl and may or maynot have a very good Matrix Stamp MR That is the problem that I have with the Vinyl Purple Label of Jackie Lee - The Duck - 5502. Is It an Original, or has It been etched by someone with the Delta # & Not Forgetting that Other pressing Plants were used to produce the Mirwood Stuff. I will get both my copies of Bobby Garrett and Post the Matrix Details.
  5. There are Styrene Original and Vinyl Originals throughout the Label I have found with Quite a few there are 2 Different DEMO's & with some many different Label Variations. Unfortunately there are counterfeit copies of some. I have tried to cover Most of the Different Label Variations on Hitsville Soulclub. >>> MIRWOOD <<< A project that is still unfinished, but Ongoing. Any missing Mirwood scans welcome, with credit to supplier.
  6. Hi Sean RE: Purple Bobby Garrett I haven't seen one other than a scan on Popsike.com and someone on here has Mentioned that they have a copy. RE: Purple Mirwood I bought the top two from Soul Bowl in the 70's. The Bottom two from ebay in recent years. ----------------------Vinyl-------------------------------------Styrene -From Soul Bowl -From ebay ----------------------Vinyl-------------------------------------Styrene I'm currently looking at the Vinyl Purple Label, the only one I'm not 100% sure with. Looks to be a Vinyl Monarch Delta # 59032 It is a different hand that has Scratched the Delta # on this one to the other Styrene Monarchs which are Monarch Stamped.
  7. My Copies are Styrene Also came out on Purple Label www.popsike.com An Excellent Link for Monarch Delta #'s / Dates and Many More Pressing Plant Details. >>> ANORAKS CORNER <<<
  8. Hi Dave I agree, Nothing on the Original 45 Label, Vinyl or Paper Sleeve. I meant on the Coloured Poly-Lined Cardboard Sleeve. Records & Sleeves are kept Very, Very safe without any Sticky Labels attached by me. The only ones I keep on the Label are the "Chips" Stickers etc. RE: "It goes without saying that all labels should be completely upright within both sleeves" I do this, Labels always the correct way up within the Sleeve.
  9. Powerful Vocals, from an Awesome Lady. I love Big Maybelle's recordings.
  10. The Very Same with my Collection.
  11. RE: "one of those records that you just love" Oh Yes, One of Popcorns finest, he Influenced so many Brilliant Tracks. & That Intro. Perfection. Popcorn Wylie = Genius.
  12. Thanks Pete, I've never noticed anything Audible fault wise on my copy. I am going to check but, that's what leads me to the Test Pressing being pressed after the Green Label Copy. However, It is a while since I have compared all three regarding the Vinyl.
  13. There are two different Label Variations for the "Time Will Pass You By" DEMO ------------------------------------------------------------------------------WWW.POPSIKE.COM In the same way as there are two DEMO's for "Too Darn Soulful"
  14. Hi Ady I have placed the three in the order that they possibly came out. The Test Press possibly done as the Green Copy had the fault. The senario that you mention has crossed my mind.
  15. All Three were bought Via Soul Bowl I must have another look at the Matrix to try to determine if the Test Press is of the Green or Orange Press. -Withdrawn Stock Copy -Test Press - With "Best Wishes Popcorn Wylie" -Stock Copy I don't know how many Test Press copies they had, I should have the List Somewhere where It was featured one week. As I remember It, John was In close contact with Popcorn at the time.
  16. Hi Steve Another I haven't seen, Nice One. I may be wrong, but suspect that it is Extremely Rare. If some of these Canadian releases were easy, I would have expected someone to have Offered them for sale on mass, over the years.
  17. Thanks, I was Just wondering If any of these were Officially Issued for Sale. The Two Chubby Checker almost 100% No. Chubby Checker - "You Just Don't Know" - West Coast DEMO Only apart from an East Coast Test Press. Chubby Checker - "Looking At Tomorrow" - West Coast DEMO & East Coast DEMO Only ( When I first looked for this one, I assumed there would be a Stock Copy - Never Seen One?) Yvonne Baker - "You Didn't Say A Word" Christine Cooper - "Heartaches Away My Boy" Janie Grant - "My Heart Your Heart" Vickie Baines - "Country Girl" - East Coast DEMO & Stock Copy. These appear to have lost their way a bit at the Promotion Stage. with many of the other releases on the Label so common, and yet the ones we collect are so difficult.
  18. I haven't got either DEMO or Stock Copy, but there's a scan on PopSike.com Just wondering, are they all East Coast, or are there West Coast & East Coast Versions.
  19. Theme Tune from The German TV >>> BEAT CLUB <<< on which Dave Lee Travis was one of the Hosts. Somewhere between Show 8 & 45 If you click on the story part 2. You can also listen to the Theme Tune. by Mood Mosaic, on the first page. I have the Second City Sound on Major Minor which was from a Bargain Bin outside a Shop in Doncaster. They were Nearly all the Major Minor Label in the Bargain Bin. & at the time in the 70's I only Managed a Columbia Re-Issue of Mood Mosaic. I'll have to dig my copies out for another listen.
  20. Hi Pete I don't know If this is of any help. Just looking through my Hi DEMO's, the Earliest I have is 2075 Which is White & Black Just a few Numbers on and the Orange Multi Shade Label Appears for the DEMO. Might Just be that my copy of "20-75" is from a different pressing plant. However, I was wondering If it was around this time that they Started the Trend of Orange DEMO's. Which looking on >>> SoulfulKindaMusic <<< was 1964
  21. All The Best Pete, Get Well Soon Mate.
  22. Hi Ian Bob Wilson contacted us at Hitsville Soul Club recently during a Ric-Tic Thread, He gave us this >>> LINK <<< Mentions Detroit Symphony Orchestra, etc.
  23. Welcome to Soul Source, Mate.
  24. Thanks for the Info on the Tamla stuff. Never seen a Blue Tamla. Hope you find some great records Mate on Monday. Some more Amazing titles, Inc, Paris Blues on Canadian Polydor - Wow! Gotta be Mega Rare Surely.
  25. I travelled all over in the 70's looking for records Think I remember seeing the White & Black Tamla_Motown, I probably missed the Yellow Tamla thinking they were U.S.A. at the time. I'm not sure when they changed to Tamla_Motown in Canada, Unusual to see the other Motown Label OutPut with the Tamla Globe Logo.
