  1. Very Sad News. R.I.P.
  2. Hi Martin Originally on a Blue Label. This Scan is from popsike.com, I think. Pre, AMY Mala Bell Distribution Credit. I have it on White DEMO and Green Stock Copy, AMY Mala Bell Distribution. If you require any Deadwax Info I will have a look. Here Is the BOOT, the first one I bought. -----------* BOOT * -Click On Label for Closer Look at the Label -----------* BOOT * Apart from the Run in Groove, The label has a Shiny but Rough embossed appearance. A bit like the Johnny Moore BOOT on DATE. Almost like it is sprayed onto rough Vinyl. Just looks wrong close up.
  3. I remember buying a Soul Pack 100 for £3. Might have been around the time they changed from Groove City to Soul Bowl Amazing stuff for the Money. Some Rare Funk Too. That Soul Pack was where I got the 2 copies of The Fabulous Dimensions, One Red, One Yellow. 4 copies of Peggy Gaines Sweet Way Of Living / Just To Satisfy My Baby & Much, Much More. There were multiples, and If it was good It Didn't matter. Brilliant for Later Years. Wish I'd have bought more Now. Not a Soul Bowl Soulpack, but I was In a Shop in the 70's where they were opening Packs of 10 You could Obviously only see 2 Records before opening. I don't know where the Guy got them from but as the Shop owner was opening them he said, anyone want one of these It's not bad. Freddie Chavez - They'll Never Know Why - LOOK DEMO. ( 2 COPIES ) 2 of us in the Shop = one each. I bought another copy from Soul Bowl a couple of years Later, peace of mind I suppose, Both Genuine Vinyl Originals. I didn't know the other lad in the Shop but talk about right place, right time, and a Mutual one copy each, However eager we were, always thought that a measure of the people on our scene, strangers yet still friendly.
  4. Thanks Pete, They appear to have allowed quite a few through recently.

  11. I still only have Manships 3rd Edition, I must get an 4th Edition. However, In the Third Edition £250 DEMO £350 Stock Copy The Stock Copy is Virtually Impossible to find, Only ever seen a Scan on here.
  12. The only Brunswick copies that I know about are the Later Barbara Acklin / Jackie Wilson DEMO's Never seen a Demures DEMO coupled with Jackie Wilson.
  13. Gotta agree about Postage Charges. Ebay concerned about High Charges, Whatever Next. They Own Pay Pal don't they.

  15. Thanks for Posting, I like the Canadian stuff. I would always find a Place in the collection That Precisions on Stone Looks Stunning.
  16. Hi Pete I'm Just about to go out to work, had to watch this though. Amazing, Never seen It before. Thanks.
  17. I will scan the Matrix of Mine, I haven't forgotten. Just got to find my copies, didn't put them back with my other Mirwood when I scanned the Labels a while back..
  18. Thanks Pete. Looks like a Mistake, In house on one of their own presses then. I certainly haven't heard of this "Baby, Do The Philly Dog" / Secret Agents that plays The Duck before. Quite a Rare mispress I would suspect.
  19. So I have gone full circle then, If It was one of their presses I'm sure they didn't normally use it on the Jay Boy stuff.
  20. I don't think so, but having said that I hadn't noticed a Jay Boy until this post. I believe some of the Presidents were repressed in the 70's but had 4 Pronged centres & smooth Label. The Original press had the Anti-Slip raised diamond centre with a rougher texture to the Label. Something in the back of my memory tells me that another 60's press had a similar 3 pronged centre. Who pressed the Doctor Bird & Pyramid Label? they had similar 3 pronged centre
  21. Forgive me for putting NON Soul records up. These were the only two I could find. ----------------------E.M.I.-------------------------------------PHILIPS -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Regarding Jay Boy 56 I Just wonder If something happened around the time of Jay Boy 56 - Jay Boy 58. I have seen a 4 Pronged Jay Boy 56 on another Web Site, which I suspect will be the normal Variation for Jay Boy 56. I'm only guessing, but I suspect that for some reason at the time a batch was pressed elsewhere and by mistake put the wrong Master in the press as the B Side. Jay Boy Records did have a Very Distinctive Press with the Chiseled in Matrix. Normally Solid or 4 Pronged centre.
  22. The B Side on any Monarch has the - X after the Delta Number. I will try to find out which Pressing Plants may have been used besides Monarch. However, If there is a Delta Number Styrene or Vinyl It should have been pressed at Monarch. Trouble is with the Vinyl copies, have they been tampered with. I have a New Scanner, I will try for some scans of the Matrix.
  23. Neither Have I.
  24. I have Just checked, I haven't a copy of "Baby, Do The Philly Dog" on Jay Boy so I can't help with the Audio on the B Side. In times of high Volume sales different pressing plants were used on quite a few records, creating rarities. Someone on here will no doubt correct me If I'm wrong, and I may well be, but I can't remember seeing one before. However since you have posted this, I have Just Checked on. Popsike.com Jay Boy 58 I still consider this centre Unusual for Jay Boy. The others on Popsike are Solid or 4 Pronged. A similar thing happened with Some of the E.M.I. Labels Columbia, Parlophone, etc during the 60's Pressed at Philips, Pye, Decca but have the E.M.I. Label.
  25. One thing that Instantly struck me is the centre. That looks like a different pressing plant to the norm. I'm pretty sure that the centres were either solid or 4 pronged, if you know what I mean.
