  1. Yes, as I stated the copy I have I wasn't sure about. Looks like a Second Press then.
  2. More fantastic tunes from Lou Johnson ------>>> LINK <<<
  3. Many Questions spring to mind. The Ric-Tic Superstition with 13, RT-113 & RT-126 Yet they had an RT-139 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This Label. Not sure which Numbering System they were following. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Another puzzle to me, when a company had a release withdrawn, I could see the reason to number it. Some were shelved before release yet allocated a Number, can't see the reason why the number couldn't be re-used for the next release.
  4. Hi Russ I don't think that I have, but will have a look through my Verve Stuff.
  5. Hi Mark I have the Yellow DEMO of the Instrumental Mate.
  6. Thanks Jim All four together. Look nice don't they.
  7. Thanks for that, As I stated earlier I'm not 100% certain with this one, as to where I bought it.
  8. Hoping to achieve this, However, my Mod permissions only in "Sharp End Of Vinyl" Be good to archive this thread. I'm on to it.
  9. Good Music lives forever. Worst case scenario, If you were to say that Soul Music is Good, then it will live forever. As it is Brilliant, even longer than that. It might not be an exact scene but the Music will be there.
  10. Very Sad News. R.I.P.
  11. That is an Interesting Theory Mate. I have often wondered about the different colour Labels for Verve. With the two Stock copies and the Yellow DEMO being so RARE & the Light Blue DEMO not so Easy either. I couldn't find the reason for the two released designs for this High Keys release. Couldn't see a re-issue scenario as the record doesn't appear to have been successful enough at the time. (i.e. where are all the copies today) Wondered if a change of Label Design happened at the time of release and this record was caught up in the transition. Different Pressing Plants. Different Coast I for one am willing to absorb the "Jazz Series" Theory as a possibility until proven otherwise. Does tick a few boxes for me. With the Label name crossing the Pond to the U.K. I find it strange that we still know so little about certain aspects of it's U.S. production.
  12. Hi John Nice One Mate That is Rare on Blue Stock Copy. Always expected it to exist, as I have the Light Blue DEMO However, I hadn't seen a Blue Stock Copy until recently on Manships, and now your copy. I also have the Black Label Stock Copy & have seen the Yellow DEMO.
  13. I have been looking for the Lip at the edge and the 1/4" deep ridge. I think my copy has, but this record is a difficult one to judge for me, as I haven't the other copy to compare. If I was 100% certain of buying from Soul Bowl I would be happier to State OK. They did have a few re-issues notably the Harthon stuff. If it's the Original the 3rd Edition states £100, not sure on current Value.
  14. Will get back to you, Just leaving to go to work on Nights.
  15. Here's the U.K. Manships 3rd Edition has the Checker Stock Copy @ £30 & DEMO @ £50 I'm not sure what the current Value is. Record Collector 2008 Edition has the U.K. Chess @ £12 Here's >>> LINK <<< Earlier this month with some prices. Mentions Cadet ? possibly in error, and meant Checker. Different Prices to the ones I have, might be current Value. I must get a New Price Guide.
  16. Yes, I have it on U.K. Chess Blue Paper. I'll hunt it out and provide the scan. Here is the US Checker 1188
  17. I thought that it might be Local Release. However, I asked this very question about this release, back in Feb 07. DEMO - Thunderbird etc & Apparently it isn't, this LINK below also contains a scan of the the Smaller Font "Out On The Floor" >>> Out On The Floor - <<< Dobie Gray - Charger DEMO ? I have searched for the White DEMO of "Out On The Floor", strange that it doesn't appear to Exist. & after all that, ain't it Ironic that one of It's rarest formats is on the Soul Sounds (Boot) Label.
  18. This is the Thunderbird Release, I bought them both from Soul Bowl.
  19. --The Stamped Copy is an Original. --The Scratched Counterfeit. There is a Very Rare Small Font Title Original. Plus, NO DEMO Has EVER Surfaced for this Release. Believed Not To Exist, as a White DEMO.
  20. It was in the Early 70's when I bought the Counterfeit. Kept it, and it looks the business apart from the deadwax. If the Labels were on correct sides, even more so. I bought the Original a couple of years later from Soul Bowl.
  21. Yes, there is a White DEMO. The White DEMO I bought from Soul Bowl. The Stock Copy I bought from a friend. Both bought in the early 70's Thankfully this Issue of Originality has been cleared up. I have always suspected the Green with scratched Details to be Original as it has Identical scratched in Matrix to the DEMO.
  22. -The Original has a Stamped Matrix -The Counterfeit Has A Scratched Matrix and Labels Reversed.
  23. -The Original has a Stamped Matrix -The Counterfeit Has A Scratched Matrix and Labels Reversed.
  24. Yes, It is a very poorly Stamped "R" Both Sides -Original
