  1. Let's hope that some of the money does actually get to the Artist/Family/Dependants. Anyone know what the deal was in the 60's regarding Promotional records sent to the Various Radio Stations. As we know, Various White Label, Multicoloured, Single Sided, Double A Sided records were sent out as promotional material in the 60's. Various stories of how companies achieved airplay . Did they then receive royalties from the Radio Station that helped to make them a hit record.
  2. Here's a live Version that I hadn't seen before, looks quite an early performance.
  3. Yes we were. Amazing that other copies haven't turned up. Ric-Tic had a spell where DEMO's are either NON existent or Virtually one off.
  4. Wow! Thanks for that, I would love to know where that copy is now. They always say never say never, but after all of these years I was assuming that it didn't exist. Thanks again, ANYONE! got a scan of this one.
  5. I stupidly parted with the DEMO in the 70's, part of a trade. Never Ever seen it on a Stock Copy Ted.
  6. Thanks for the Video clip, I hadn't heard seen that one before, looks like it's from the same show. "Lip sync" was released between "Hearts Are Trump" & "1-2-3", & his first at Decca. I think the other side "At The Hop 65" was expected to do better at the time.
  7. Not Rare, We may all have a copy or have had a copy at some time or another. Obviously this release was based on the 1-2-3 WINNING FORMULA at the time. Along with 1-2-3 etc, it is an Awesome performance, but Sadly known mainly as just another POP record from the 60's. As mentioned by someone the other day, if this was a Rare Unknown it could have been Massive! All of the Ingredients are there.
  8. & purely for those too young to remember, this was Freddie, not short shorts, but the antics are there RE: "DO THE FREDDIE" ">
  9. Hi Pete Yes,thanks for posting that, I have it on a Legends DVD, and remember you posting it on YouTube. It did make me wonder, but it remained the "B Side" on the record, wonder if Parkway did re-promote the "At The Discotheque" side, hence the Video from HOLLYWOOD A GO GO Thankfully he did gain a certain amount of Credibility in the Later years, unfortuately most remember him purely for the Various (Dance Craze) records & he was more than that. I couldn't find the Video of "At The Discotheque" on YouTube, however I did find this, and in the write up at the side of the Video there is this.
  10. Yes, that was the Black Stock Copy & the Re-Issues. Only the DEMO has "Moonlight Music In You" as far as I'm aware. I have the White DEMO, never had a chance of the Black Stock Copy. There is of course the Orange & the Grey Re-Issue. The Grey almost catches your eye as a DEMO as you search through records. Different Label layout with a second look. >>> PopSike (Laura Greene) <<<
  11. A nice Item to own, that is Mate. The K.F.C. Involvement did raise Interest to some and being a Rare Soul scene, for others possibly less so. However, it isn't that easy on a DEMO, Virtually Impossible on a Black Stock Copy. I have seen it for sale from time to time anything between £60 to £150 for the DEMO. Depends on condition etc, ebay (Luck)
  12. Thanks Mate. I was having a look through YouTube Friday Morning, someone had just Uploaded it to YouTube, minutes before. I can't remember seeing the clip anywhere else, it was a first viewing for me.
  13. Hi Sean Yes, I remember. Incredible that Chubby Checker had release on release and almost all a New Dance Craze. I just wondered, what if they had been normal releases. Would music have changed so dramatically before Motown or The Beatles. Very different times back then, Civil Rights etc. -- Chubby Checkers Dance Craze discs did have a World Wide appeal, the records crossed to the mainstream almost by stealth & won a white audience. If only as a kid I had realised what an Impact these quirky tunes would have on my life today. ">
  14. Chubby Checker - Do the Freddie (1965) Just found this on YouTube Got me to wondering what might have been had Chubby Checker, not got the tag of the Dance Craze (Various) Certainly brought our music to the masses, albeit mostly buried on the "B Side" as is the case with this one. Hidden classics, such as "AT THE DISCOTHEQUE" could have been the "A Side" had things been different. Realistically in the cold light of day, the dance craze brought the hits & the cash and the World Audience. Cameo Parkway then went on to record many of our most prized tracks. However, had Chubby Checker released the better side at the time ?
  15. Very Sad, In Our Thoughts. So Much Sadness for Eddie Levert. Someone who has provided so much joy. Unbelievable!!!
  16. Dee Dee Warwick - Get Away, Baby
  17. Hi Mark There are so many, I've always loved the Marvelettes records. The Marvelettes DELIVER The Singles has regular plays in my car, has a couple missing but hey. The Chalfontes, The Poppies & so many more. I could listen to The Girls anytime.
  18. I don't think that there is a link. You are right though, It does look similar. I have the "HIT" Sleeve somewhere. I'll try to find it & see if there is any Information on it as to source.
  19. Hi I scanned the "Love Is The Greatest" side purely because my Original Copy has the DJ Grafitti on the Label of the "I've Got Something Good" side, and to emphasise how alike they are. They are different records scanned, and they are Identical, but for the Deadwax. I will provide a better scan & comparison to Original soon. The scan below was a bit rushed. It is a very good counterfeit, but they are different Notice the "4" for Instance.
  20. Hope she will be OK. An Amazing Artist.
  21. Thanks for this Information, I think this is possibly the only type of DEMO in existence for the Party Time Copy.
  22. Regarding the FREDDIE CHAVEZ Delta #101310 on Styrene is a BOOT. There is another BOOT on Vinyl. The Original is on Vinyl. I will scan the Matrix Later. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Regarding the George Carrow I have just started a thread about this one, in "The Sharp End Of Vinyl" >>> GEORGE CARROW <<< I will be adding extra Information, but I am on Nights so I will post Later.
  23. All are Stamped Matrix on STYRENE Originally, First Issued with an Incorrect Title. -(ORIGINAL DEMO) -GEORGE CARROW ANGEL BABY (You Don't Even Love Me) / BRING BACK MY HEART -(ORIGINAL RED LABEL) -GEORGE CARROW ANGEL BABY (You Don't Even Love Me) / BRING BACK MY HEART Then a DEMO Issued with the Correct Title -(SPECIAL RUSH RESERVICE) -GEORGE CARROW ANGEL BABY (Don't You Ever Leave Me) / ANGEL BABY (Don't You Ever Leave Me) But what happened NEXT - Has anyone seen EITHER A Correctly Titled Red Stock Copy OR A DEMO for the Grey Label Copy (Grey Label) -GEORGE CARROW ANGEL BABY (Don't You Ever Leave Me) / BRING BACK MY HEART Two Questions after years of searching. Following all of that trouble getting the Title Correct & the Rush Reservice DEMO, was there a Red Stock Copy with the correct title, or was it shelved Until the Northern Interest years later......? The Grey Label was a Re-Issue due to Demand, but was there a DEMO. Anyone know.
