Tears Of A Clown... Withdrawn B Side?
PopSike.com Not too sure about this one regarding the DEMO, but I remember it's release. When I bought my copy with the "Whose Gonna Take The Blame" side, I noticed a blend of each, amongst the small amount in the shop. Wasn't 100% as to which to buy and I bought the least rare, It happens. A Virtual 50/50 choice for me, Obviously that ain't the case as a bigger picture. Taught me to buy both in future, a learning curve. Hard to Imagine the senario as to the DEMO, hopefully someone on here will know. An obvious question on hindsight, However, I believe that you may be one of the first to ask. Had a quick look on PopSike.com click on either Label PopSike.com There are 3 listed DEMO's with the RARE the B Side Thanks for raising the question, Welcome to Soul Source.

Orig Or Boot?
I believe that the Turquoise Label Vocal / Instrumentals were In fact Re-Issues (RE: Arthur Wright) and now Extremely sought after. Inspired by this question, I have featured these two in "The Sharp End Of Vinyl". Regarding Original Matrix Details. One thing of Note on the Jackie Day, the "Without A Love" side Deadwax is only half the width of the "Before It's Too Late" side. I will be adding more Detail, as usual at work last night & tonight, No Bank Holiday for me. It's nice to have a break in between shifts though, thanks to Soul Source.

I am aware that these are Part 1 & Part 2, besides that, These two do look similar. Just wondering if they were both Special Products, hence White & Black. and the (UA2726) / (UA2727) below the 50451
-
Steve Karmen
That was my Initial thought, unless it was some kind of re-issue, but why White & Black. The Normal Stock Copy would have been Beige.
-
Steve Karmen
Here's the one that I have, Could be a Re-Issue I suppose. As it is White & Black rather than the usual Biege I assumed that it was a Re-Issue or ? It is from a box that I hadn't been in for a while, I thought that it said DEMO on it somewhere. STYRENE - Deadwax = "K-8490-------------------UA-2727-"

Thanks for Posting these, I hadn't seen your copy of the Thick Paper one before. The Other one, (I wonder what the Matrix Marks are), I haven't seen that one before, either. I have Enlarged them all in the Previous Post to compare.

A bit rushed as I am going to work in half an hour. This is an Original White DEMO. Strange one this, as the "PLUG SIDE" (PART II) Has the "-X" which denotes the "B Side" with a Monarch. (Delta # 73035 = August / September 1968) ORIGINAL DEMO - STYRENE MONARCH (All of the Marks are within 180 Degrees of the Deadwax). -"UA-140495-RE" "MONARCH STAMP" "Delta # 73035-X" -"UA-140494" "MONARCH STAMP" "Delta # 73035" I will search my other copy out on White DEMO.

Yes, or a re-issue, I will try to find it and scan. It's in one of my early record boxes, haven't been in for a while.

Faro Productions
I don't have any on this label, however I have noticed them along the way. Don't know how many others did this, can only think of a handful, James Brown, The Lovelites. www.Popsike.com As Russ says, "what a great way of seeing a picture of the artist/s"

Appreciate A Scan Please Of
Not a problem Mate. I have done the same thing myself. Funny thing though, regarding certain records, I remember being elbow to elbow searching through boxes of records in my youth. Certain ones stick in my mind to this day, even though I only flicked through quickly, slid out of sleeve etc, but possibly foolishly didn't buy only to regret years later. As I said no problem and thanks for taking the time to look.

Yes Mate, I know, It's just me babbling on about a label I love. Information always appreciated. Definitely a first viewing for me to see "Don't Pretend" on a Purple/Burgundy Label.
-
Appreciate A Scan Please Of
Well, that would be a Rare Item as I have said earlier. The Purple/Burgundy copy of "The Duck" is on Vinyl and has Possible Monarch Stamp & Delta # Markings. Mirwood still surprises to this day. I certainlly haven't seen them all. With the The Early numbers, anything up to and Including this one Mirwood 5508 Appears to have a chance of turning up on a purple/burgundy label. Regarding The scan that chris has posted, sometimes a West Coast press isn't scanner friendly. I have some labels where the Silver writing virtually disappears, yet in normal daylight it is there as large as life.
-
Appreciate A Scan Please Of
Agreed, even the Silver writing has a hint of purple. Is that a scan without any Gamma variance to the image. Does it look like that in normal daylight for instance.
-
Appreciate A Scan Please Of
Hi Arnie Can't say that I've seen a purple copy for "Don't Pretend" That would be a Rare one I reckon. There are a few different shades for Mirwood on some of the Titles.

Hi Mel Not a Problem. Are these OK or did you require a better resolution.

Querying The Price Of A Record
Record Prices. Obviouslly if funds available, can't spend as much percentage wise as in my youth. Always a personal thing, depending on how long the search has been. At my age, If I have been searching 38 Years and never found. (Can happen, even with titles that some deem to be common). I use the guide, but only as that. If I really want an Item & have the funds then it's a trade off against just how many years of searching, traveling and the like to find another. All part of the fun, and as can happen, suddenlly like buses, another two come along when you've purchased it. However, bargains are nice, but I can get the same buzz from a record or that I might have spent over the odds for, (book price) to fulfil that long time want. Money suddenlly takes second place.
