  1. Thanks Mate
  2. Just thinking, we know all about Motowns Quality control regarding the Grooves, However, there are some stunning designs for his Labels. I wonder who was behind this, Obviously Gordy as a name for a label speaks for Itself, and the Design is stunning, as are the others V.I.P., Tamla etc. He set off with the Tamla & Motown Striped Labels, AND THEN ? I just wonder who was responsible for the later Designs, and the Names. Was Gordy pulling every string, Including the finer points of Label Design, I Wonder!.
  3. I don't know about the VPI Machine. Here's an earlier Post regarding cleaning records etc. >>> LINK December 2007 <<<
  4. I bought the DEMO from Soul Bowl in the 70's. I know what you mean regarding Stock Copies of this Press, I have seen one other on >>> PopSike.com LINK <<< also a DEMO. The Thread from FEB 2007 Suggests that the Gold Copy was around, very early on and Stamped. Quality wise is a Mystery if it is as thought an Original Press. .
  5. Believed to be Different Pressing Plants used Originally for the Hexagonal Clock Design. Here is a >>> LINK TO POST - FEBRUARY 27 2007 <<< Discussion regarding different Variations. This Scan Courtesy of Johnny Mack, Posted FEB 2007.
  6. That's Extremely Rare Mate. Just wondering if the "Moanin', Groanin', and Cryin'" side Achived much Airplay at the time, considering it being released twice. Although buried on the B Side TWICE Should have, It's a Brilliant Track.
  7. Hi Holding the Stamped Number in the Deadwax at 6 O'clock the H is at approx 1 O'clock. The H is on both sides, however quite poorly Stamped but in the same position regards the Stamped Number.
  8. & The Stock Copy for TOBI LEGEND is DEFINITELY It's Rarest format, without any shadow of a doubt.. The Stock Copies on this page alone would set you bak a Lottery win & a Lifetime of Searching. Even then you'd struggle.
  9. Yes Mate, I have. I tried to post Yesterday before I went to work.. As the Title Says. "I'm Spellbound". Never Ever seen it, only heard of It's existance. Nice One that is ROD. Missing from our list on Hitsville where we are trying for a scan of everything on a few Labels. >>> LINK <<<
  10. The Hexagon Clock was the First Design. The Round Clock the second design. As can be seen from the scans they were pressed using the same Stamper. I'll have a look for Jay Lewis.
  11. There was a question regarding >>> THE WHISPERS - REMEMBER ME <<< Apparently there is some confusion regarding the Matrix Details & Label Differences. So I thought that I would scan the Stamped Matrix of Soul Clock 105 & Soul Clock 109.
  12. Soul Clock Sc-105 - The Fuller Brothers - Times A Wasting - -First Design -Second Design Not forgetting the Fabulous THE FULLER BROTHERS - MOANING, GROANING AND CRYING - SOUL CLOCK 105 -
  13. No Problem Mate Just archived this one in >>> The Sharp End Of Vinyl" <<<
  14. mmmmmmmmmmm luverly. Thanks for Posting.
  15. Hi Kev Exactly the same as I use. As good as the day that I bought them & the records have come to no harm. I know that 7" Singles are not Generally thought about now commercially in the High Street, but there must still be a Market for these sleeves. I know that I could use some at the right price.
  16. Hi John Thanks for Posting this. It is the harder DEMO, I nearly Won one on ebay a couple of years ago, Outbid at the Last Minute. As already mentioned before, something appears to have happened at the Promotion Stage with a couple of the Chubby Checker releases. "Looking At Tomorrow" & "You Just Don't Know" Anyone know why these two failed, when other releases are so easy to find by him.
  17. Hi Steve Thanks Mate, Years of searching, & Obviously in the wrong place. All that I have ever found is this Tantalising scan. Looking At Tomorrow - Chubby Checker - Parkway - Stock Copy Regarding the Coloured DEMO, I have a coloured DEMO of "Girl Don't Make Me Wait". I have it on both Designs & one is a DEMO.. -I think I have seen a Stock Copy on this Design -Not seen a White DEMO on this Design as far as I can remember.
  18. Cant say that I have seen one other than the white copies. I thought that this was the place for this one from PopSike too. The FIRST Stock copy that I have EVER seen of "Looking At Tomorrow". Never say Never they always say. Look at what I have just found on PopSike.Com Never EVER seen one before. Looking At Tomorrow - Chubby Checker - Parkway - Stock Copy The Stock Copy does exist apparently.
  19. Doesn't appear to be too much difference in price. Paula 221 (RED LABEL) Mentioned. Lyric 1003 >>> LINK <<<
  20. Hi Malc Pleased that someone picked them out and bought them. I was afraid that they had gone to land fill years ago.
  21. Hi Pete Ah yes, those bargain bins, Happy Days. However; I remember a Doncaster Market Stall with Red Atlantics, they had a Red Chinagraph X Across the label. A few copies of "Fireman" very early 70's, I didn't realise it's value at the time., AND I didn't buy one single copy. That's the way it goes, you win some you lose some.
  22. Hi Chris Yes, sorry Mate. A record worth posting twice though.
  23. Similar on "I Can't Dance To That Music You're Playin'" Hard to tell just where the Vocal ends and the Sax takes over.
  24. Yes John, you're right Mate, the Silver & Black are 2nd Issues, using the same Master Plates as the Original Multicoloured. Featured in The Sharp End Of Vinyl >>> Nasco - Bits N Pieces - Keep On Running Away <<<
