As Tony says on the other thread Interesting that the matrix no (427) Appears on both releases.

Hi Tony Yes, I had a look at that, unusual indeed. Monarch Numbers are Different Though between the OMEN & VAULT. Just about to leave for work, not 100% sure but wasn't there a suggestion that Popcorn knew nothing about the VAULT & Vocalion release for "Goin' To A Happening", just wondering where VAULT obtained master for these releases.

I have started this thread in response to a Question on the Sound Quality of these two releases. >>> THE WOODEN NICKELS - OMEN Vs VAULT <<< I recorded my three copies straight from their sleeves without cleaning, and at the same Level. I noticed that the Omen Copy does sound different & is a Different STYRENE Monarch DELTA #60383 (Soul Bowl) The VAULT COPIES ARE BOTH STYRENE MONARCH DELTA # 63114 My VAULT DEMO Does Sound a little Distorted (Only Played a few times from NEW = Soul Bowl) Needle Burn ? My VAULT Stock Copy has Exactly the Same Matrix DETAILS as the DEMO but does sound a clearer. My Stock Copy was bought in the 70's from a Mate. Just to be certain I have Included the Wave Scan from Audacity. I will try a gentle clean on the VAULT DEMO in the next couple of days, would have thought that the stock copy proves the original press quality though

Just got in from Nights. I have these, will compare and let you know unless someone beats me to it.

Used to have a Stock Copy Mate, regret selling it now, however early days of collecting. At the time things were not as clear as today, we've all passed things by, sold etc. I suppose, on balance there's others I'm pleased to have had chance of and kept, right place, right time. All part of the collecting game.

Hi I have been unavoidably absent from Soul Source due to a recent bereavement (Sister) & I have only just noticed this. If you Click on this record you will see the List we are compiling for the Gordy Label at Hitsville Soul Club. I still have "Nowhere To Run" to add as a Scan, but it will appear shortly DEMO & Stock Copy. Many different Designs & Font/Size are turning up from Various Pressing Plants, they are Original in their own right. Most pressed at the time of Original Release but at different pressing plants, with the odd re-issue here and there. I am hoping during this process a clear picture will develop as each Scan is Uploaded, as time passes with this Ongoing project. We are tackling a few Labels Including

It is one of those records, that for a few $ or £ it delivers a Sound worth much, much more. All Originals & are out there & they don't break the Bank, can't go wrong. Tremendous Record.

Wow, didn't know that. Did hear that The Andantes were on a lot of the recordings though, but no Vandellas. An Amazing record, always been a favorite.

Does it need to be the Greenish One, I have this one and possibly a greenish one. Did have a few colours if I remember correctly. I can scan this one at a better resolution if required.

Thanks Mate Regarding The Modern Redcaps. Here it is on PopSike.com Looks Nice, However, I thought that I had seen one White / Red as a Stock Copy. Could be my memory playing up though, think it was on ebay Last Year.

That's Nice Mate, Obviously Styrene from the scan, Guessing by your previous post that it is a Monarch Delta. These two are on Vinyl, "Ultra Sonic" Matrix.

Now there's a thing, I'm sort of answering my own question here. Just had a look in the 3rd Edition Price Guide. Obviously Now Up To 5th Edition. £50 DEMO £100 Stock Copy So it does Exist, Totally Gobsmacked, never, ever seen one.
