  1. Just looking at some of the records in my collection, certain records have kept with me for years. I well remember hearing this one at the Youth Club and promptly bought it on Soul Sounds (Boot). Thrilled when I got home & played it. Then lucky to find a copy on Stateside. Since then I have found a few Variations of the Original U.S.A. New Voice Label, there may be others. Bestway Delta # 61678 I think I remember seeing a West Coast Blue Label DEMO, but may be wrong - West Coast Monarch. Bestway, this DEMO appears to have the thin centre under the Label. There are others since, Including the Pye Disco Demand, Collectables, Eric etc. Always been there, yet so blooming hard to find in the Early Days, Hence the Soul Sounds at the time. How times change, especially now the Internet's here. One thing that still astounds me to this day, whichever record I buy. When I was a young teenager (I'm now 55) the copies I'm buying now & some are Mint were in storage somewhere, and have been for all these years.
  2. Not sure about the Motown Recording session, would guess Andantes, however on the video it looks like The Blossoms. May have been done purely for the show, I think they were resident singers. https://www.youtube.c...h?v=ftKGzuB6HLE
  3. Oh Yes, Difficult to choose between Videos, both are my favourite records anyway. Perfect choice of clips, put together so well.
  4. Another record, "60'S IN A BOTTLE" If it was rare it would be worth many $ Class performance from Len Barry, Understated in some respects, Watch him, he lives & feels the Lyrics. https://www.youtube.c...h?v=1EnUV_k18DY
  5. Yes, no signs of any outside mentoring, & It's Raw & Brilliant.
  6. Respect, I'd love to be able to play one. Whether It's easy or not & suspect the Later, I've played the Air Saxaphone many times (Thumb A Ride) etc. All The Best With This. Wonderful Instrument. Remember, you've already got soul.
  7. Will we ever see Artists Perform In their own style again, Just doing their thing & every note fills the stage. We still love & admire the Talent from the 60's. Amazing routine.
  8. Found It Thanks Ken, I Wonder Which Year That Was Recorded, Any Idea.
  9. Thanks Ken, I Will Have A Listen Later, RefoSoul Not Working At The Moment.

  17. Many Thanks for Information, While I was aware my copy was a Re-Issue, Suprised to Learn that the Original U.K. President was as early as 1966. Always Learning something new with collecting. >>> GETTING MIGHTY CROWDED <<< There appears to be two President Issues as well as the Fontana Below. With >>> Getting Mighty Crowded Repromoted as the A Side on President 2nd time. <<<
  18. Briles has just posted this on Fontana (Made In Holland) & Licensed from President Records. >>> <<< I wonder which label would have the rights to U.K. release in 1966.
  19. That's a Beauty, Mate. Here's a Re-Issue President with a 3 Prong Centre. Quite a few of the President Re-Issues for this have 4 Prong Centres. Not the same as that Fontana Press Though.

  22. I saw Chris Clark at Sheffield a couple of years ago & would definitely pay to see her again. Would dearly love to have seen Brenda Holloway, Jack Ashford & the others. As you say many people may not have heard of them, yet if they did they would surely enjoy. Glady's Knight at Sheffield was one of the best ever, yet played to a reduced audience at The Arena. Better Advertising would have helped. When Cliff Richard & The Shadows appeared at The Arena it was advertised on many commercial breaks.
  23. Yes, even though I couldn't make it anyway, I heard virtually the day before that Dec12th show was cancelled. Similar thing happened with an earlier concert at the Dome in March, we had tickets for a Motown Show, found out quite by chance that we needed to get our money back as it was cancelled. On this occasion I had managed to get a shift off & had to cancel holiday etc. We could have easily turned up on the night too.
