  1. The Tamlins also did a version which is pretty good. I suspected the ChiLites is album-only although I am surprised as it is always cited as one of their classics. Thanks for the feedback and I'll make do with my album copy and reggae versions!!!
  2. Evening everybody!! Was wondering if this ever came out on a 45 and, if it had, if anyone would like to exchange a copy for cash!!! PM me if so!!! Many thanks.........
  3. Jessie Rogers - 1983
  4. How much are they please? How much is postage in the UK? What condition?
  5. The 12 inch demo of Message In The Music by O'Jays is a surely a tough one to pick up - think I recall only seeing a single copy for sale over the years. As is the 12 of Love You Direct from 1984..........
  6. I don't think Beware on Rags is on the same album but definitely sounds as though it was recorded at the same sessions. https://www.discogs.com/Lou-Courtney-What-Do-You-Want-Me-To-Do-Beware/master/253647
  7. Tamlins - Baltimore Carlton and the Shoes - Let Me Love You Eizabeth Archer - Feel Like Making Love Deborahe Glasgow - Give Me That Touch Desi Roots - Hung Up Investigators - Turn Out The Light Sandra Cross - Your Lying Marie Pierre - Choose Me Cool Notes - Kidnap My Baby Nina Decosta - Don't Want to Lose You
  8. I paid £2.50 for my copy and remember it being played at an alldayer in St. Albans in 1992 (to a decent dancefloor reaction as well!!).
  9. Now this IS a two-stepper and as good an example as any!!
  10. Sadly not a two-step tune!!!
  11. Sorry to say this but Clausel was played on the 2 step scene and was even bootlegged to cater for demand from that scene.
  12. 2 step was borne out of the Lovers Rock reggae scene in the early 80s and was chiefly a London-based thing - the tunes that were picked up were mainly mellow soul with a beat that roughly corresponded to the reggae otherwise being played by the sound-systems. It is nothing to do with the kind of UK Garage popularised by Craig David, the Modern Soul scene or Steppers scene in Chicago, although some tunes overlap from one to another.
  13. How would the Inland Revenue (or you) establish the amount of profit you make? I presume, although I could be wrong, that this would be the difference between your purchase and sales price across the 8000 items. Do you know what you paid for each one? Some will make more and some may make less than what you paid. Am I overlooking something here?

  17. I've enjoyed this thread - obviously everyone was a lot younger when this lot was first played but the sides highlighted just seem to have so much more energy than the wave of modern sides that came about at the end of the 80s, Jesse James, If You Want a Love Affair etc.
