I suggest no female floorwork dancers as the the boobs get in the way... and Karen I too, can dance just as well as a bloke to the stompers and spinners, but from a self gratifying position, there aint nowt so sexy as a soulboy in full flow on the dance floor specially when they are fit As for the gay thing.... Scotland.... Kilts/Skirts... come on......

And sorry but have to say it, when certain tracks are played, re male/female dancing it should be a male only environment, there aint nowt like seeing a group of male dancers doing floorwork when a 100mph tune is being played....

2.5 million budget.. Not alot of dosh for a movie but look at the return trainspotting got at the box office and video, DVD sales etc. Big seventies revival going on at the moment re fashions etc, and "our early days " were a big part of that era, especially when the casino made it to billboards top nite clubs ratings.... people came to northern venues back then "just to be curious" some stayed and alot went....

Filming for this production starts in November this year, Auditions for dancers are to be held in the uk soon, will let ya know the dates when, auditions are being held in "the heart of Ireland" Dublin as we speak. Monday 1st September on BBC's inside out programme on BBC1 will feature a special on Northern soul... 7.30pm. Potential Cast or those type of people that they are looking for for the film Souled out includes Jamie Bell (billy Elliot) Michael Jibson (brighton rock) Natalie Dormer (casanova) Paddy Considine ( In America) Rhys Ifans (Notting hill) Jessica Stevenson (Spaced) So it its got a pretty strong cast of crew, and reading the synopsis package is truly focused on the "proper Side" of the Northern Scene, i.e the people the places the music...... The writer/director have done their home work on this one....

Presume ya mean the like sof black nasty and the skull snaps, stanley woodruff etc etc... And the mighty crow, very very, funky for its time, never used to like it much, but when married my hubby that was his fave back then and it sort of grows on ya after bout twenty odd years when "the boxes" come out for an airing and is one of the first on the decks.... Spooky and Sues "I've got the need" is the epitomy of the Cleethorpes sound for me.... Remember gettin on the coach at the Barbican in Lincoln and picking up peeps in the villages on the way to Cleethorpes.... Talk of the north........ Classics.... When we go to the all dayers at the gardens its still got that buzz for me... and takes me back to when I was a fifteen year old again.... Hope it stays and they don't pull it down, its got too many of my memories in there......

Looks pretty good though, I have just e mailed them to find out a bit more info, i.e where its gonna be based on, music etc... lets see if they reply...

Cleethorpes everytime, these are the venues I was brought up on, the pier and the winter gardens. Used to swear that everytime a stomper was played on the pier, that floor would go through and we would end up in the sea.... Force ten gale blowing as we walked down to the hall, with a full circle skirt on was rather refreshing........ Mary Chapman, Chris Dalton, Rick Scott, Rick Todd....... I can remember Soul Sam "breaking" Casanova by coffee at the gardens in the early 8ts and a few weeks later it was in the charts. I was under the impression that the contracters whom have the job of redesigning the gardens were going to leave the main ballroom and downstairs complete, instead of just knocking it all down... I hope that they haven't changed their minds again.

Mum was always a big Elvis fan, me hubby is into the northern same as me, our 11 year old is a big fan of The belles and their track "don't pretend" She was thrilled to bits when make my vinyl was able to get a signed copy of the lyrics for her at the last weekender at Cleethorpes (6t's) and this now holds pride of place on her bedroom wall. She is also into her everyday chart groove stuff and Now 61 is almost on constantly in her bedroom.... But she is diverse in her musical tastes, and is into old sixties grooves such as Dusty and Nancy sinatra as well as pet Clarke. Must say though she has good tastes and often puts on "a good Set"

Excellant advice if ya believe in them and keep it real you'll be ok. As both a dancer and a dj, I think to meself, "what do I like to dance and listen too" But keep the faith, enjoy the music... and like previously mentioned don't get stuck so far up the rarest of rare tunnel and don't spin money. ..
