  1. I do Shane, and have converted a couple whom used to be into the commercial sound of motown years ago, i am currently trying to bring an old friend up to date as he has been away from it for bout 25 years and its very difficult to introduce some of the "newer" northern stuff
  2. This bloke is.... and I just happened to be married to him ah... His name is Trev Roberts and won the dance comp at Skeggy last year along with Sam Evans. Dont know about what you guys think about the good dancers, but from experience if you have got a fantastic reputation for dancing and you go to a venue and feeling a bit off it and don't dance as much, you get slated for it from others. I know carl and the guys from Kingsway and all the dancing sometimes takes it out of you, as you will know Steve. I know that Carl has got problems with his Knees, but keeps giving it large on the dance floor cos its what people expect from him.... Sometimes you just want to sit down and listen to the tunes.
  3. It always has been present on the scene Winnie since I first got into the northern scene in the mid 7ts, (the rarities) I think that some (and only some) of the dj's on the scene get a bit too wrapped up in the label side of it. One experience that i had re this was when a couple of major collectors spun "pounds" on the turntable one night where they were guesting, the venue was full but the dance floor empty, individuals were going up to make requests that were never played and the dj's sneered at them as if to say "we aint gonna play that shite" and just carried on spinning the rarest of the rare to an empty floor... the venue suffered badly after that... personally I am a retro girl and like my northern that way, what peeves me though is a venue that advertises northern and plays arm swinging modern and related commercial motown... and woe betide you if you ask for any northern to be played ...
