God this is hard to do... but gonna list me favourites first
we have to have
Soul Sam who made it real all those years ago on the east coast, pure brilliance.
Mr golden voice Rob Smith for my mispent youth days at the palais
Richard Searling no explaination needed.
Mary Chapman who did it for the love of the scene back in the day, and had one of the best collections at the time, that a 16 year old had ever seen.
Mark Bicknell, who like myself is "passionate about the scene and the music and whom plays The broadways for me and who each week costs me a fortune playing stuff on the radio that I dont own.
I would definately have to have guest dj's each month from all the soul nites around the country, whom each month contribute to the most awesome scene ever and give the "top guns" a run for their money, playing brilliant sets wether it be rare oldies, the top 500, RnB or the modern in whatever genre, these are the people that keep the scene going.
Top favs on my local scene for me at the moment include
Ian Gee
Doug Hall
Dave Wooley
Gez Langley
and up and coming 16 year old Laura Dixon who reminds me of me, (back in the day) and whom under the guidance of her dad (minimally) is banging out top notch sets around the Lincs/ Notts area.
