  1. One main thing you lot forgot. We are an ageing society, and as Elder lemons effectively we need less sleep, So long as we get a nap in the afternoon , I envisage All nighters to be the way forward Plenty of parking spaces for those electric scooters, and liquid Ginseng available at the bar I cant wait to retire More time for soul...... Soul nites will be renamed Reality Orientation Sessions, and include all those lovely tunes that we once danced to as youngsters, we will know all the words, and we shall dance cos it wont be some dodgy remix
  2. Tempests amazing album Someday Chooooon
  3. I dont really think that this comment of yours was totally neccessary do you? Would it surprise you that 11 year olds can read!!! and your comments have distressed little miss soul aka Rosie, whom I know personally and think the world off, I would place her against any top female dj in this country because I know that she is just not "sweet" but can deliver a set full on, to a full dance floor, not because she is 11 years old, but because she has, like any of us on here, a passion for northern soul. I also know her dad Pate whom makes sure that Rosie is in the safest of surroundings at all times, Just As we all do with our precious kids. The vinyl Rosie plays are ones that she has bought from her own savings or has been given by other dj's and soulies, because she believes in what she is playing regardless of what label it is on, and those that have experienced this have believed in her not because she is "novelty factor" but because her love of the music shines through, As you say you were there that night so what was the dance floor reaction to her set?????? thats the most important thing, and soulies wont dance to a crap set regardless of age. Many on here often comment on will soul die when we do, but while we have got the youngsters coming into the scene, we need to nurture them not treat them as "noveltys" because of their age, or destroy any confidence that they have by making derogatory comments about them or their parents.
  4. Amy Winehouse or Janice from friends track cut from ain't no mountain high enough.
  5. Yeah Ste, Payo the promotor put out messages at the end of last week saying it had sold out, so there won't be a pay on the door option left as previously advertised. Like you I have had mine since September last, So am well chuffed I got them early. Just hope i can find her one, but i doubt it, think she will have to go to the soul weekende at Butlins instead
  6. There is always one and shes a mate of mine .... We need another ONE ticket for the all dayer if anyone has got one to sell, this is probably gonna be harder than finding an original demo
  7. up until about 2 years ago me and the hubby used to go to the scooter rallies, and I loved em, Djayed at a few and enjoyed it, many of the bigger rallies used to have a seperate northern room, the VFM ones in particular (think thats what they were called) I never over the years saw any conflicts between mods/scooterists/psycobillys/soulies/ whoever just a load of people getting together and having a damn good time as it should be.

  10. Just listening to a load of old tapes that has been recorded over the years One Track in particular Cowboys to Girls (First heard this when I was 19) now all this time I have been trying to find this track ... I have it by the embers and other copies but not by the version that I have on tape, which features a female vocalist as well as a male one. Anyone that can help me out on this will make a soul girl very happy, as in all these years I have never found the one that I really wanted. It was a big play at the palais in the early 8ts, specially by smiffy ....
