  4. thanks for posting that up Doug
  5. Firstly i would just like to inform everyone that Carl rang me tonight and would like to thank everyone for all the best wishes he has received since having his attack. He also informed me that someone somewhere this weekend started an absolutely awful rumor that he had died. He wanted all his friends to know he was ok and is making good progress. So if anyone tells you he has passed away make sure you tell them the malicious rumors of carl's untimely demise are to be treated with the contempt they deserve. How anyone can start rumors like this is beyond me and is the lowest of the low, imagine how his family and friends must have felt hearing this.
  6. what a shame
  7. Bob Marley Stir it Up
  8. Should have put one of those dodgy IL backbeats to it, to give it that just "more edge" feel to it
  9. sacrilege
  10. Had a listen to it.... have to agree with Pete that intro is Gwen Owens no doubt about it. The track and Album itself is not my cup of tea, its aimed purely for the "normal market" and those that perhaps were once into northern and see it on the shelf at tescos and buy it, giving the impression that this is what constitutes as northern soul now in 2007. Yet another don't always believe what you read rip off. Some bloody good vocalists on there warbling away, but as usual as in all IL productions it has that dodgy backbeat that takes over all his tracks and is brain numbingley totally offensive to those vocalists and indeed the listener. No doubt it will be played out an awful lot in the clubs that Ian goes to down there in the capitol and i am sure the boys and girls in bling will love it.
  11. Our best wishes for a speedy recovery for Carl who had a heart attack the other day, many of you will know Carl from the Kingsway venue and his fantastic dancing at various venues up and down the country. I have spoken to him tonight and he says he is doing ok. get well soon mate . Dawn and Trev xxxxxxxx
  12. Of course an all girl line up is good anywhere, Sam Evans has a successful soul sisters nite at Hinkley as I do with my girls on top nite here in Lincoln. We know how to make ya sweat on the dance floor and take no prisoners....
  13. Steve, thank god its tuesday, the rain has stopped, I can see the garden and the garage floor now the floods have subsided here. We got health, good mates and family that love us, and music that means so much. All we need now is for the sun to shine and we will have a summer. I hope those Monday blues have gone like the bloody rain down the drain. Love and peace to you. Dawny. x
  14. me fav play at the moment The way you love me(part1) by Ron Hall and the Motherfunkaz feat Mark Evans (Dims T.S.O.P version) 7 in .... followed closely by D.C La Rue's Cathedrals (old cleethorpes pier play) .... my most recent purchased vinyl DuShons you better think it over on down to earth 70 ...... showing an across the board taste in soul as it should be and how I like it.
  15. polys.... had a brown pair for travelling in and a black pair with polished soles for dancing in...... the most comfortable shoe in the world ... was a sad barsteward a few years ago and wrote to clarks to ask em to bring em back...... best ones for dancing in now is my doc martin shoes .... they are battered bruised and ruddy stinky, so are just right
  16. I offered to take him on my puch maxi, would even put a new carrier bag over the rip in the seat so his bum didnt get wet .... lol..... only joking Steff before it starts world war 3 again
  17. would be nice to have a butchers Mike
  18. Love it!!!! Good on the hips and knees, perfect for spinning a handful is just about right at the side of the floor, quick shuffle to get a good coating on the soles and we're off dancing. A good cleaner the morning after, bucket of soapy water and a quick buff up with the polisher brings it up a treat. Now what is dangerous at "the no talc" venues is a quick spray of silicone, now theres a law suit. Don't ban talc that is used in moderation.
  19. Mand, I reckon everyones knees are about buggered Carl is 49 but dont tell anyone
