  1. 31 years and counting (only cos I havent found it yet )
  2. Now that would be worth the money.... the DKOF vs The Attic what a nite of tunes!!!!
  3. sometimes!
  4. they did it with a glove on I think Jessie Owens did it first without the glove back in 1936 at the german olympics ''Tommie Smith and John Carlos, the two African American track and field medalists who raised black-gloved fists on the victory dais at the Mexico City Olympics and brought all of the roiling American racial politics of the late 1960s to a worldwide television audience''
  5. Its the black power fist that was adopted. The fist was made during the german olympics in 1936 something, by a black chap, (Jesse Owens) who beat a german rival, On the podium he gave the clenched black fist salute indicating black power, old Adolf H was disgusted by this and walked away. Its indicative of the black power movement throughout the world particularly stateside. The northern link is the adopting of this sign and its been with us ever since and indicates the power in the black music we listen too.
  6. Dags go to a northern nite again somewhere near you and feel the music again, in its original score in the middle of the dance floor doing your thing, then come back and tell me the band that played the MVP's and The Salvadores were still good!. This time with feelin'
  7. After you with the cheese Gromit, bloody great tune to dance too and one I aint heard for an age, thanks for posting.
  8. Paul Donnelly you will be bored !!! What else is there to do in the ''normal'' world
  9. I am agreeing with Paul on this one, The play was about the original music purely and simply there wouldnt be any play unless it was for the music, the moving storylines, the experiences, the scene, the delivery everything was to do with the music, without which there would have been nothing. Sorry but a bunch of people just playing off a score sheet, without the heart and soul that the original artists put into their recordings means nothing, its cold, the thought of Yuros It'll never be over for me, sung by someone who it means absolutely nothing too is a sickening thought.
  10. This is a brilliant idea Could it be linked to events talk in some way?
  11. Jayne play it loud and proud I say I used to love the floor reaction to this soulies in full dance flight, I love the way his vocals have that pleading sound to em, very hot!! Gonna have to stop writing and change me draws I think anyhow it does it for me.
  12. I wondered the same thing earlier ... I want it to go on for a while longer. Just love JP's vocals on this. Mind the Beaumont cut is nice, saw one of these earlier today as cheap as chips ... might just have to have a little investment. Whats the Jp track going for now?
  13. I dont know about waving anything but having a sneaky peek is what you blokes do all the time... ''tales from the urinals''. I collect simply and purely because I love certain tracks and I know others who attend my venue will enjoy dancing to them as much as I love playing 'em. If their on the original label the better as far as Im concerned. If its a high cost piece of vinyl I'll skank the net and various sales til I find one that is within my price range. Its called pride not snobbery in owning that elusive spin.
  14. They did (Cleethorpes was first with the choons though but don't tell that lot ) My Choice on the question this time with feeling brilliant Nate track.
  15. Anyone got an mp3 of this they can post up please? Lost my disc with it on. Many Thanks Dawn x
  16. Its the Beatles rift of Back in the USSR Im not keen either to be honest Do we know who bought it yet?
  17. Just a typical Friday/Saturday nite for me that
  18. Bloody Hell Pete you and DIY don't get on do you... I had a 50 box of gems back in the early 80s that some light fingered basket nicked, included in that were a few demos, a couple ultra rare and some not so, but they meant a lot to me. I still happen across the light fingered one now and again, and still want to rip his head off ... not that I bear a grudge or anything all these years later
  19. Nice one Steve Bit disgusted ya never used a damp tea towel on them trousers though to get them creases sharp! It seems like you are always getting your kit on or off on these films you keep doing, Is there a Steve Cato clothing range about to launched ?
  20. Paul Weller
