  1. Well this whole process is called the "free market' isn't it? And if you're also living in a free society , your arm isn't being twisted to buy a record like this ... even at what some might regard as a stupid price. Not madness is it, if this is the record that you really want ? Also why are you looking at it in terms of "a better investment"? Unless your a dealer, don't most soul people buy particular records to own them, love them and play them ... and without regard for what they might or might not be worth in the future ?
  2. Really never understand the outrage on here over the prices people pay on ebay or with Manship. Apart from those perhaps who inherit their wealth or achieve it through illegal or immoral means, generally speaking most people work hard and/or educate themselves to be able to put themselves and their lives in a position where they can spend their money in any way they like and whether they pay $370.00 or $970.00 for Terry Callier really is of little consequence to them ... what's $600 bucks if they can get a record they really want and love - that's great if you can do that , isn't it?
  3. While on this subject, anyone got complete LP discographies of the Guinness and TSG labels ?
  4. So ultimately what happened with the deceased estate assets ?
  5. Mr Manship in his current auction of the Show Stoppers 45 makes reference to the " World’s #1 Northern Soul DJ " https://www.raresoulm...tion/next-week/ Who is he referring to ?
  6. Impressive to see you have doubles of the Cashmeres , the Epsilons and the MarKeys ...
  7. You beat me to it but surely the Paul Simpson produced version featuring Candi is easily far and away the best version of this tune , cerainly the mosty soulful , and . as you say on the 12" you alos get a nice rendition of Daid Ruffin's |Walk Away From Love" by Anthony White.
  8. Featuring one of the great 70s dancers , the LP only "Rose" !!!
  9. Thanks Mike Couldn't be that hard. Come on somebody !

  11. Seriously interested . Please quote a straight price - prefer that you dont ask to "make an offer ? Cheers
  12. I'm certain that "You Can't Hide From Yourself" was released In Australia on PIR with "I Don't Love You Anymore" as the B side . I'll try dig out the record and post a scan.
  13. Hi Jolly What is on the other side of the Numonics please? Cheers
  14. Were the Precisions' Laurie distributed records released with the distinctive multi coloured logo Laurie paper sleeves ?
  15. Expect Ady to come on here and mention the Last Chance and Randy Cozens, I'm sure there is some info on Ady's 6Ts/100 Club website. Interesting in that the Last Chance scarcely gets a mention in most of the major books and articles on the original London Mod scene in comparison to the Scene and the Flamingo and others. Could it be because the Last Chance seemed to be a strictly soul club for soul enthusiasts and frequented by some mods , whereas most of the others were in fact Mod clubs with a mix of soul , rnb , beat and ska ???
  16. Pete, this lot of modern obviously from your personal collection !
  17. Looking to get the vinyl 7" of this - no twelves please. Also prefer not to be asked for "offers" ... please just let me know how much .
  18. Great record ! Will I be shouted down if I say that the sound and style of this record immediately reminds me of The Vibrations "Cause Your Mine"?
  19. The vocalist in the Epitome of Sound was African - American.
  20. A vocalist ? Rick Astley is making a comeback.
  21. Raises an interesting legal question : does legal title/ownership in things such as this AGFA tape file copy forever remain with the record company or the copyright owner whoever that may be from time to time ? In other words, could this AGFA tape of Frank Wiklson's Do I Love You be considered as stolen property under US law ?
  22. Lee Mitchell "Best Shot " equally great record.
  23. Can someone confirm exactly the year of release for the Fairmount 45 ? Comparing it with other common Fairmount release numbers it couldn't possibly be later than 1966 , could it ? And judging by the "Heatwave" like soul sound of "Because of My Heart" , surely it wouldn't have made any commercial sense for Rouser to re-issue the record in "68 or even later when the prevailing popular soul sound was Sly and The Family Stone , James Brown, psychedelic Temptations and funky Impressions ? Unless perhaps like the Lost Nite label , Rouser was trying to cash in on the "oldies" reissues at the time in light of the Butlers' origins as a doo-wop group ?
