Yes , but like "What Does It Take" , how many cover versions of a well known Motown hit can one handle .?
And there are other better versions too , the Isley Brothers version off their This Old Heart of Mine LP is just phenomenal.
As this predates the This Is Wigan doco, and in the absence of any firm evidence of any footage of the Wheel which some have said does exist, this would have to be the first film footage in existence of a northern soul event?

Using popsike as a guide (and with the reservations many of you have about that) , the price at which this just sold for on ebay is easily the highest yet .... and it was only in VG condition

Is this film intended to be released in major cinemas in the UK , and then in the US ?
Or will it all depend on initial box office sales in the UK which will then determine if it becomes a "hit" or whether it will just go straight to video after a short time and then end up being a minor "arthouse" film ?
Always thought this was the best of all their great records ... so that's saying something .
And Klinger and Feldman wrote "I'm On My Way" for Dean Parrish by the way .
Over the years have spoken to a number of people who were regulars at the Wheel and who saw many of the greatest live acts in their prime and more than a few have said that the Vibrations were unbelievable.
Being a long time collector of original footage of the greats soul acts, I was unaware of any original footage in existence of the Vibrations from the golden era then just recently came across this clip from the US TV show Hollywood A Go Go in 1965 .
This is amazing footage of the classic line up of the Vibrations - just wait til you get to about 3 mins 40 secs into the clip and then the boys really let
loose !!!!

Could you point us towards where we can find more info on the Promises?
Have always enjoyed their version of " This Love Is Real " but always assumed that they were black.
And there were some liner notes I believe on a Brunswick compilation CD many years ago that implied that an LP on the Promises was released on BRC ?
