  1. " ... the implosion of the most successful African-American music label ever...." If this refers to Motown, I wasn't aware that Motown "imploded" in '67 ??? It just upped and left and moved location to California and arguably on to bigger and better things , didn't it ?
  2. Agreed. The Tom Moulton mixed version on the Disco Champs LP makes an already great record even greater. Moulton actually picks up the pace of the record in his mix.

  7. "Where Do I Go From Here" , the other side of "You've Got To Pay The Price" , has always been criminally ignored:

  9. And maybe follow those two with Patti Jo "Ain't No Love Lost" ...

  13. Bobby Bland immediately comes to mind as the having the most distinctive and recognisable "growl" in RnB & Soul history. However I won't begin to try making any comparisons between Bobby Bland and Mariah Carey or Whitney Houston!
  14. True but if Sly were honest with himself, he would admit that really he largely had himself to blame for the way his life turned out, what with all the drugs and erratic behaviour.
  15. Who was the executor of Dave's estate and where was the executor when Dave's possessions were being dealt with, so to speak?
