I'm just after a bit of background on the above. Picked it up at a local shop for a fiver because it looked interesting, had a few good tracks on etc. I've since read up on Joe "Butterball" Tamburro but cannot find even a mention of the album anywhere on the internet. Just want to know if there were any other volumes issued (because this has some great slower stuff on it that is right up my street), is it common, a boot or anything? If anyone can help that'd be great, if not thanks anyway.

Love his podcasts. The fact these records are played and shared is surely better than them being sat in a box or on a shelf and never seeing the light of day again.

To be fair I've been too and enjoyed it when I went. Only a fiver tax, a decent venue and some great DJs (have to exclude the above DS, who was not great). I'd be saddened if it were 'J.J' who had done this. The last one was a packer and really decent, so he's in little danger of being undermined... this would make me think twice though about next time. We've had an issue in the past with a local North Wales promoter (not the folks at the lovely Broughton Wings Soul Club, they are top, top drawer), turned up at one of our charity nights shouting and balling about music policy etc before leaving noisily. Its a bit of fun we put on for our mates to spin a few tunes, have a dance and a catch up, and to raise a few bob for others. No one is doing it to attack your 'margins'. Leaves a bitter taste but I imagine its a years old problem.

Can I have the 100% pure poison please?

No Des, it's all about the audience enjoyment, as surely that is the aim of the DJ? Our lot are into the music and that visceral, indescribable thrill of when a DJ gets it bang on. Be they 25 or 65, whether a tune is worth £1 or £10k. (although I'd kill for an original JD Bryant )
