  1. PM'd ya
  2. Nearly sent a PM saying I'll take the Jan Jones then. Good job I checked See I learned my lesson from the Magic Night episode
  3. It'll go the same way as every other similar thread. No one ever changes their mind and no DJ has every changed his methods as a result of these threads.
  4. Any you lot are sick of just send em to me. Can't think of one I can't put up with for three minutes as long as someone in liking it.
  5. but the 'D' in CD also stands for Disk. Mind you CDJ as in Compact Disk Jockey does make it sound like eveyone is the size of me Johnny Weston or Little Scotty
  6. I both know and realise all of that but thanks for pointing it out.
  7. Not in the UK if your using it for DJing purposes. https://www.prsformusic.com/users/recordedmedia/ProDub/Pages/produbcust.aspx
  8. I too have no issue with collections being transcribed to CD-R or laptops IF and its a big IF the DJ has the license and right to do so. Fo me it's about the legitimacy of what they play rather than the format. I have no idea if Colin has a ProDub license but people worried about this can do a simple check on-line. I doubt anyone with OVO concerns are being so literal that they object to sounds that originally came out on CD being played from CD but maybe I'm wrong.
  9. Trouble is you end up defeating the object as I and I guess others have turned off notifications for these groups and any other that someone thinks its wise to sign you up to without asking. Anyway stop complaining about post from here being on there too, there is an off button
  10. I agree its neither here or there and certainly not something to get hung up about but not sure your menu analogy works too well. Not unless you expect your venue to play the same records every time. If it ever got to the stage where you could know in advance everything that was going to be played then the scene would be over (for me at least)
  11. My bag with my leather, spare clothes and worst of all my dads camera. A guy asked Helen Pickup to pass it to him and she did It was only when I asked her where it had gone she realised what she'd done
  12. Not necessarily
  13. I think the default with some listing engines for ebay is only to ship to own country and if they use one of those without understanding this no one outside their country can bid regardless of where they say they'll ship to. I have had this in the past with someone I bought from regularly. Luckily I had his email address so got it sorted but not until after my snipe hadn't gone in.
  14. I been giving this some thought myself over the last couple of years to be honest I think we often take things like health for granted and should live more in the moment so to speak. I have a health issue now which I won't bore you with but its unrelated to my 'lifestyle' and would have struck if I'd been in the British Legion playing cribbage every weekend. Don't waste time over analysing things just enjoy the time you've got you may be run over by a bus in the morning.
  15. I'll do it if a promoter asks me to. I'm one that has in the past been accused of 'Dick Waving' not that I have much to do that with (Records wise before you lot start ) and a three month exchange with a guy who badgered me and badgered me for my copy of Richard Marks which I wasn't willing to let go. Play lists only tell part of the story and for me are not necessarily a good indicator of what I would play at a different venue. So I wouldn't want someone reading a playlist of mine and thinking they've got me pegged so to speak.
  16. Not unknown on Moonville but much much harder than the Kapp release. (probably more than the six times rarer the price suggests) I'm guessing but I'd have the Moonville as the original release and Kapp as the major that picked it up later but as I say thats a guess.
  17. The Chandlers - You Love Makes Me Lonely Don Varner - Tear Stained Face Mary Wells - Me Without You Johnny Maestro - I'm Stepping Out
  18. Ive had three of these over the years all the same design as Dave picture. I've kept the one with the "You Love" title error which I assume is the rarer of the two on that design. Never seen another design though so you could have a really hard one there Flanny.
  19. Put it in a sleave and if you can see all around the label its the lookalike boot. Or check the matrix as shown by Julian.
  20. I think 77 was the imprint used to rerelease a lot of SS7 material in the late 70's for the northern market. It did exist in an earlier guise and released Ann Sexton following it's local sucess on Impel.
  21. Its the boot. Compare the size of the label to the hole in the sleeve and then look at your Modulations or Cookie Scott. I doubt you will have ever been able to pick this up cheeply enough to think it was a boot but maybe an original? How long have you had it? Edit: on looking again it appears that all your pics are from different sources, different backgrounds, sizes, some sleaved, some not, some cropped some not. But the picture is of the boot anyway.
  22. Good music is good music simple as that. Clothes fashions change and if you don't change with them you'll be well erm out of fashion.
  23. Sometimes if you're careful you can stop the cause of the skip with a cocktail stick run through the grooves where the needle is normally diverted to miss some of the record out.
  24. I've no idea who 'bought' it when first listed or at what price. I just think it's a simple solution. To avoid the hassle let your friend post it for sale I'm sure he'd soon get to as many posts as you have and be as much in the loop on prices as you also he can risk any damage to his own reputation rather than yours.
