  1. Southern Artists is the local issue and therefore should be rarer. Mind you your more likely to get one in that condition that one in the Bell copies condition. I think it was Pat that played this first but not sure on the Lee Otis Williams C/U name. It was 25+ years ago
  2. Where's the bloody 60's
  3. Better version too me thinks
  4. In this case Steve I beg to differ. Jimmy Bishop owned everything lock stock and barrel and it was he who did the reissues using original stampers in many cases.
  5. That's Not Half Bad
  6. Ruby Lee about £20 -£30 for a minter I think
  7. Try searching members on here for Fyldecoast. That's Steve McWilliams he may know of Steve Nixon's whereabouts. There were hundreds of these and most of them not from the dancefloor. The parque floor covered the whole room even under the tartan carpet. so you may not have danced anywhere near these peices.
  8. Five from me: TSU Toranados - Gotta Get Through To You Herbs - Put a Hurting On My Heart Lou Rawls - When Love Goes Wrong Norfleet Cousins - Brown Eyed Devil Buddy Kennedy - Don't Leave All worth picking up and can be less than $10
  9. Great Quote from Rodney Lay Jnr I once had the honor and pleasure of co-producing an album with Willie. He was a great guy. Al Green stopped by the session at Royal Recording in Memphis and I got to meet him, too. One of Willie's great lines was, "man, that's so good it makes a cold shit run down my leg"!!! He had a million stories and was a tresure to work with. What a great man and true rock-n-roll pioneer. He will be missed. Amen
  10. I've had a couple of those test pressings at least two with the labels detatched but in the sleeve. Never in a sleeve like that though I'd have kept it.
  11. Thanks Sebastian I thought BB could be billboard but couldn't think of the others. It looks like they were cataloging where it was being given airtime, its chart position, and sales volumes on a given date but I wonder why? If this was just for a file it would very quickly be out of date and why would you use colour print. Maybe it was a 'sales' tool to show new stockists how 'good' the record was but again thats a lot of data to fill in for a single stockist. Perhaps more likely to get additional airplay as although the list of call signs is long its a long way from being a complete list of either cities or all their local stations. New York had a lot more than just the three shown for example. I guess it just turned up with a recent purchase Pete?
  12. I love stuff like this. Are they radio call signs? What does BB CB RW refer to? Nice piece of social history there Pete
  13. I think it was Bri that was suggesting it was a small crack. I was just pointing out the seller hasn't used the word crack at all. I wouldn't dream of spending this much on a cracked record. This seller has a great track record for turning up the goods and knows what's what thats for sure. Anyone who is serious about selling from the US must have the guide by now thats why the starting prices are so high for so many IMHO. Trouble is they take the guide as gospel and as we all know thats far from the truth.
  14. The desription is interesting - thought that it said cracked when I read it last week but now it just says "(NOTE: VERY MINUTE STRESS DOES NOT AFFECT PLAY) (VERY HARD TO SEE) 1/4 "(INCH)" I may have filled in the word 'crack' between the words STRESS and DOES in my own mind as thats clearly what is meant but maybe some of the bidders have missed it?
  15. Perhaps he works in the marketing department of a furniture company? Next week it will be "A Massive 75% off in Our Fantastic January Sale" "Sale Price Now Only $499 (Previous Price $1999.99)"
  16. Look's like it was one of Bobby Sands cover ups during his 'Dirty Protest' period
  17. Some belters to chase down guys thanks a lot. Couple from me all different in style: Alvin Christie - Devil Darlin - Viva - Went down a storm at last Keele cheepish but so hard to find Sonics - Find Myself Another Girl - Valmon - Brown eyed soul outta Texas Cheaters - Call a Cheater - Jolo - Quirky uptempo rip off of the Tony Hatch penned Call Me though with no credit given to him
  18. It went to a good home Grant John Weston has been giving this some airtime lately so expect people to start looking for it again now
  19. Snipe em Nev. Never miss something I want. Rarely win them but never miss placing a bid. That's because I'm a buyer trying to set the price. Trouble is there are other buyers too
  20. I'll have an Impel copy of Ann Sexton please Nev. Mine has a damaged lable
  21. Surely that would be 'Baby Don't You Weep'?
  22. Good thanks mate. I've spent too much this Christmas too and I've a few snipes set that I'm hopefull on but will of course panic if I win them
