  1. Mine pretty good vinyl wise label could be better though
  2. I love - Oh How It Hurts on Arctic. If anyone has a WDJ copy of her on Arctic 154 You Better Stop It / Happy Girl its one I'm after. It may be single sided like many Arctic demos though.
  3. Quincy Jones Featuring Siedah Garrett - I don't Go For That - Qwest
  4. Still got mine Middleton spin for me always raised questions / interest.
  5. I picked up a Tony Middleton - To The Ends Of The Earth - MGM Issue unplayed in company sleeve for $16.
  6. Mum and dad picked mine.
  7. If is legitimate and good whats the problem I say. Just wish I had the skill / patience.
  8. Played this and their Something for Sure at Haigh Hall early doors on Saturday night. Great tune great price.
  9. If you collect issues rather than demos its worth £500 regardless of how 'played out' it is or isn't. It's just that rare. Out of interest how rare is a Tony Middleton issue compared to the demo?
  10. To make money??? Not a great mix IMHO. Then again you don't need to sell many at £8 to cover the pressing costs and get into profit.

    2 To Go

Never knew who this was! I've had this a few years now so thanks for posting - Mystery Solved
  12. Dave Welding Carl and Maria Phil T Mick H Butch John Poole Pete Hulat John Weston - Ted Massey The Brum - Villa derby double deck challenge
  13. There must be someone on here that's got the skills? I used to use Paint Shop Pro and MS Publisher for the my contributions to "In the Neighbourhood" and that was simple enough. I know there's much more sophisticated programmes now and someone here must be able to help. Come on soul-sourcers. If we're anything like a community at all we should be able to provide scans pictures and some IT skills to make this happen surely? Hasn't John Manship set up a publishing vehicle for his own books? John?
  14. Pete, Great source of info here thanks for sharing. With the advent of Print on Demand (which has improved in quality immensley) surely some publisher would add this to their list of material. No real investment for them once its digitised and its only printed to order. So no stock issues for book stores. I'd buy it - Perhaps some scans would really add value too.
  15. What about buying the 'wrong' Lee Bates on Instant 'You Won't Do Right' rather than 'Why Don't You Write' funny how you can see what you want to see sometimes. Must be loads of others that shame won't permit me to remember.
  16. Well I hope you have returned it now.
  17. Tim - That's a long time to concentrate for. If you schedule the whole set the I've found that I average 23 records per hour (I must talk less than Bob ) As miss goldie has pointed out you won't have to worry about other DJ's playing things you'd planned to before you go on so will need less 45's. You should also consuder how those pesky punters are going to ruin it all with requests that could take your playlist in a whole new direction or if you're going to ignore any that you don't already have scheduled. A set that long 'live' I would suggest has a few more pitfalls and is harder to plan than a radio set. I'd be taking 500 probably (Just because I have a 200 and a 300 box that I regularly use). Deciding how many is the easy bit deciding what they will be is much much harder I find.
  18. Has he really? Are you sure? I can't see that anywhere. I also can't see the seller agreeing unless they accept they are in part at fault for declairing it as a gift. Why would they?
  19. Very few people can truly know how they come accross to others. You included. As evidenced by your "No I don't" statement. If a seller incurs a cost that is a legitimate cost off business they can record it against their business. I took Richard to mean that dealers here in the UK can write of the costs against their "profits" if they make any that is.
  20. Take the hit pay the fees would be my advice. Some years ago I got hit for almost £2k in customs charges and VAT. I had 123 boxes of records delivered and it was the 122nd box that customs stopped and then charged me on the whole consignment. Didn't like the fact thats that the customs charge was on the whole value of the transaction including the shipping and then the VAT was on the whole transation including the customs charge. Still paid it though.
  21. Sold sorry Les McCann - Sad Little Girl - Limelight - Original Mono release of the 'Play the Hits' Album containing the LP only in demander "Sad Little Girl". The cover has some visible water marks that have gone through to the inner sleeve but the album itself is VG+ and plays great. Add £2 for postage in the UK. Paypal prefered. Sold sorry
  22. Not sure why you would post this once it had gone above your budget rather than before if it was so interesting.
  23. Haven't got a copy but I believe it doesn;t have the nashville matrix stamp as stated before. It's hard to believe that two presses would have been done at different plants using different plates for the demo and issue.
  24. Whilst DJing for Liam and Phil over at the Belfast Soul Club this guy was chatting to me before I went on and said "I saw you play once at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool can you play that midtempo thing you played near the end of your set?" I said "Hmm can you give me any more clues?" He said " Yeah I thinks it by a guy and its possibly on a blue lable" It was only later on I realised he probably meant Roy Robert - I Know What To Do............. didn't have it with me anyway.
