Never seen / used WD 40 , but once seen a mate clean a record up with a brillo pad , condition was visually improved from a VG to an EX almost instantly . . . . . err , the downside being it didn't play through too good .

There's probably a quadruple c.d. set somewhere with these very singles on , and they've been "done" that often , that you can possibly even find 'em in the same order as on this list ? Nice list old oldies to be sure , but more from a collectors viewpoint nowadays imho.

It's not only him who's poor Kris , i think almost everyone who buys originals , certainly me included , are so obsessed with it that we spend whatever spare money we have. I've sold many thousands of £'s worth of records within the last month or two & have i banked the money ? , no , i've spent many thousands+ a bit more on records & am skint AGAIN. Collecting vinyl is as addictive as smoking , drinking , gambling etc. etc.

That's why it sold @ £80 then , it's always been a pretty rare "45" imho , but tough to sell ( i personally like it , but it's not to everyones taste - bit like Johnny Daye on the same label ) . My "spare copy" had been hanging around for ages marked @ £125 , with no takers , & i thought when i reduced it that it'd fly out at its new price .

Hi John / anyone , What's the going rate on a M- original W/D ( the plain / non-hexagonal design ) please ? I knew it was a pretty rare original , but no-one has ever pulled it out my sales box for a 2nd look , which suggests it's either overpriced or not very good ? I don't even remember it hearing it played at a venue tbh.

The only time i had Matt Brown i got the full book price of £600 for it Dave , however it was Mint- , and was a couple of years ago now , ( when selling records for top dollar was somewhat easier than it is now ) , i doubt i could get that for it again ? I'm afraid i'm like Chalky and have no taste either , as Milton P. is a non-starter against Matt B. in my book , but everyone has their own "take" on comparisons . O.k. tune but not for me , could just simply be that the Jar-val labels far prettier to me ?

When you were going to the City ground in the 70's , you were passing one of the best "Northern Soul Clubs" of its day , in The Brit , ( "The Britannia Rowing Club" ) , great nights on a monthly basis . There were always plenty of great "original" records for sale down by the River Trent , without going any further afield to get 'em ! ! I believe Mick H. reactivated the venue in the very late '90's and early Noughties for a short while.

Don't get the connection re-Butch & south of Kettering ? Unless it's a 100 Club link possibly ? He's from Penkhull , Stoke-on-Trent , a son of The Potteries , and definitely DJ's more upwards of Kettering than below it geographically speaking.

lady DJ's are not mocked but feared ...lets face it we have better natural taste than the menfolk...anyway i am retired ..i i took a salesbox to the 100 anni and i spoke to a fella after who said he didnt know 95% of the tunes for sale....so really my excellent box of sales would have made a great DJ spot except for the fact that not every bugger knows them....and therein lies the problem......nice to hear from you Ezzie its been a while..

My partner must be a real oddity then ? He has a large & great collection and absolutely hates dj'ing , he regularly used to do the opening hour / warm-up spots at Albrighton ( for Martyn Bradley ) & Lifeline ( for Andy Dyson ) & the new monthly do at Lord Conyers in Doncaster ( for Mark Knaggs ) , purely because they're his mates . He doesn't even bother to use the mike anymore , since he poked himself in the eye with it at Sheridans , ( whilst leaning over to introduce the next record ). His sales box would be good enough to dj out off and he's done it all on a pittance through wheeling and dealing , certainly not through limitless funds . So there's hope for everybody , just trust your lugholes & "go for it" , there's plenty of bargains still out there !!
