well i am down sarffffffffff but the place mentioned is still a 2 to 3 hour journey from me ....no direct route from west coast to east coast ...would be quicker for me to go to london and altho we have had successful niters here in the past not many people who live oop north are willing to travel this far down...always got a good crew from the midlands...BUT why would they travel when they have a saturation of venues right on their doorstep???.....bring back yate lol its only up the road cookie

a hello first would have been nice lol...or did you join just to get this off your chest????....i have no knowledge of the area you are talking about so i cant comment...but i must say most places these days cater for all tastes with most having 3 or in some cases 4 rooms...i was at soulfusion in glos a couple of weeks ago....bog standard oldies room loads of uptempo stuff...not my cuppa tea but hey ho....lovely modern room playin anything from jazz funk to soulful house to crossover....and an anything goes room...so the paying punter does have a choice.....if i dj i play what i want not what the promoter tells me to play and i play to the floor not my "over inflated ego "...maybe you should travel outside of your area....just a suggestion like.... cookie

i cant really comment never having been abroad souling....but the dj from abroad for me would have to be lars he did some stunning sets a few years back when i saw him in rhyl at the weekender.... cookie

amen to that you can list the order of some peoples sets cos they play the same stuff in the same order..< yawn >.......its not giving up and coming dj's a chance by having the same ole dj's playing the same ole stuff..ive seen some stunningly talented dj's flop because the crowd are not up for it...or dont know it...i spose you need a happy medium but dang its soooooooooo tedious sometimes :angry: ...gimme one of those alternative rooms anyday where no one gives a stuff about the dancefloor they just wanna hear quality music... cookie

im truly gutted especially as i havent been anywhere for near on a year 100 was gonna be my re-entrance back into the thick of things...from the first time i lied about my age to get a membership its always been as mark put it " the holy grail " of soul music...thankfully i have dj'ed there which was the crowning glory of my soul life its disheartening but as is also mentioned the jocks and punters made it what it is...and of course ady's dedication....
