i wrote a little something for N soul once...hope i was nothing to do with its downfall... ....soul up north is the best soul fanzine apart from daves soulful kinda music....cos its written by real people out there living the scene....N soul was a little too promotional for me pages and pages of adverts and no real substance...all went down hill when ali left......... gerrin me coat.... cookie

i use window cleaner too lol but any shops own equivalent will do its non abrasive cuts the grease just spray directly onto a soft cloth and rub into the grooves clean all the excess off with another clean cloth and then repeat if needed .... make sure the record is thoroughly dry before playing!!!! if you use baby wipes make sure they are not the lotion type as this will just add more grease lol.... cookie

i think you are talking rap there with the expletives etc...the likes of R Kelly as quoted earlier have had plays in the modern rooms i rather like the new genre R&B mary j blige etc at least they can sing...the rap you refer too also has its place in society as it is in fact urban poetry( my sons quote not mine ) every swear word is now in the dictionary its a fact of everyday life alas and doesnt have the same impact as when we were young..... anyways for me modern R&B beats the pants off that crap played at venues now loosely termed R&B ( rock and roll more like ) cookie

i bought laura lee on a white demo for $1 its mint ses the fella who sold it on ebay ...it looks fabulous and has a crack from run in to run out but plays without a pop or click .......my cashmeres has a crack in it but both sides play without a click with no sticky tape/razors blades ..pretty obvious that unless as said before i put them on ebay with a sound clip i wouldnt sell them...mind you why sell them they both play fine..... cookie

the majority of the ones ive had look a darn sight worse than they play...anyone got a nice clean label scan? cos they all look rough the ones ive seen so far.... cookie

ive never paid more than £100 for it but then book prices are rarely correct lol cookie

pretty expensive going by the book around £800 but ive had 3 in the last couple of years they are all mostly beat up never seen a mint one but i kept the best of the 3 for myself the B side is also fantastic luvverly down tempo choon cookie

someone handed me 2 cd's while i was out one nite....both sets of butch...containing the jean carter c/u in its entirety...i can name names of the person who recorded the set but only to the dj concerned...the said cd's are laying dormant and the sound quality is none too good....why would anyone wanna record someones set unless its through a proper system is beyond me...oh and of course with the dj's permission '''i think the track is a cracking choon and i am not known for my love of a girlie vocal............. ps the person who recorded these sets really needs to learn how to spell....as bucth may be offended cookie
