Sadly our good friend Robbie England is unable to make our next night. (Friday,4th April) Absolutely flattered that a much respected and admired, very knowledgeable local lad, with an absolutely tremendous record collection has agreed to honour us all with a set. It's rare you see this gent behind the Decs,so rest assured, you are in for a big treat. Polish those dancing shoes and get those ears syringed in preparation for David Guiry It's going to be a cracker of a night.

Salts soul collectives next event. The event is going from strength to strength and the music played is absolutely subliminal. Well established reputable resident and guest dj's. Between them, owning some of the best vinyl collections in Britain, having taken many years to search and track down some of the finest original sounds from our wonderful scene. Including some incredibly rare finds. This is reflected and represented in the music played. Fantastic venue, brilliant sound system, well stocked efficient bar and secure plentiful parking. Its going to be a real cracker Hope you can join us. Any problems, questions or concerns, please don't hesitate in messaging me.

Absolutely fantastic. What a night. We were unable to get to the event until 18.00. As we approached the pier, you could sense the atmosphere. My wife,Denise, was getting giddy with anticipation. We met up with our ticket master Michele Bywater. Because I'd inadvertently ignored Gary's email invitation, I'd failed to get tickets. Thankfully,we'd managed to get some,or should I say,Michelle sorted out my incompetence. Thank you. As we entered,to be met by the door ladies,we were greeted by wonderful smiles and were dealt with not only with efficiency but friendliness. These wonderful girls help set the tone for the night. On entering,BOOM! The atmosphere hit you full on, it was incredible. Recognising old faces left, right and central. We was saying, "what's her name now? Isn't that thingy, you know, good dancer, went around with Bob thingy, used to wear that jacket Can you remember his name? Look there's whatchmacallit over there" Brilliant. Smiling, laughing and dancing full on. As it was so full, obviously all the tables and seats were rightly taken. We found a standing spot against the wall and despatched Mark I'Anson to the bar, where the queues were long, well they would be wouldn't they, drinking was the order of the day. The staff worked tirelessly to serve, with a smile too. We gave Mark orders to buy double to eliminate the necessity of queueing again soon. It wasn't long before we were on the dancefloor. Floor was good, sound system crystal clear, lighting perfect. The building looked brilliant and the refurbishment was obviously a great success. I was digging deep into my memory trying to recall exactly how it was, I gave up with the call of alcohol. The screens at front of the stage were showing wonderful pictures of the past, What a lovely touch that added to instant reminiscing of past times. We were all on a mission, we knew the music,as it was the foundation of our journey of life. We all were celebrating our achievement in being able to still enjoy, with friends of old. Like most I get fed up to dancing to the overplayed classic, but not tonight. Everything fell into place, this was where we began the experience of our wonderful scene. This was where we first heard those sounds, along with the people we were with,we were being transported back to the day when things seemed so simple. I must admit I got tearful to the odd record, where the memories of past events, lost friends and incredible moments in our lives we were fortunate to encounter. Every dj was absolutely fantastic, not a bad record, many wonderful forgotten stuff thrown in too. I think I danced nearly all night. Good job I was wearing black(sweaty) I also didn’t know I could still stomp But having said that,I can't and my legs are feeling it today. It was nice for Mary's family to give there appreciation, more so to see them dancing and enjoying themselves afterwards. In my ignorance, I don't know which names to individually thank for professionally organising the event, there must be many. You've done absolutely brilliant and made so many people happy Thank you. Now where's my pain killers and deep heat rub Regards Ade.

Morning. Hope you don't mind me asking what may seem an anal question. Any of you learned folk know what the true story over the Pat Lewis Goldmine release of Terri Bryant's wonderful Verve release of Genie was? I seem to remember something about a lost master tape, also another tale that a certain entrepreneur just brought her into the studio to cut a like for like recording. Another that she was originally in the backing vocals to give the release credibility. Unsure If this was confirmed. In anticipation, thank you for taking the time to respond.
