Newtown Soul Club, 3rd Sunday of the month brings you Eric Fanning as the guest Dj who we all no so well he plays a brilliant mixture of music to please the crowd, along with Eric there will be the residents Paul, Blunny, Neil and Jimmy. There is a large car park the bar prices are reasonable it's a very friendly club so come down for a dance-drink or just to socialize.

This Sunday Newtown brings you Rose Astbury from Stafford Soul Club as the guest Dj playing you some of her finest selections of music along with all the usual residents to fill in the gaps, looking forward to seeing you all down there.

Newtown Soul Club on the 19th March brings you an afternoon of across the board soul music with your usual resident dj's Mark Hayden Paul Hayden Neil Edwards and Martin Blundell with this months guest dj Natalie Harrison with all the proceeds going to the Turkish/Syria appeal, and then afterwards on to the Swan and Railway Wigan to finish off your day.

Newtown Soul Club on the 19th Feb. brings you two brilliant guest dj's Paul Kidd and Dave Butler (AKA Wolfie) to entertain you from their record collections along with the resident dj's Mark, Paul, Neil and Blunny we hope to see you there as it's looking to be a good afternoon then if that's not enough you can venture to the Swan and Railway Pub 19.00 till about 22.00 right opposite Wigan Central Station to finish off the day which is free admission.

This Sunday is the first installment for 2023 at Newtown Soul Club, Guest djs are Soul Sisters & residents Paul, Mark, Neil there is no Blunny at this one he is sunning himself in Fuerteventura so I will be stepping into his place (big shoes to fill). Hope you can all make it, and not forgetting the Swan and Railway afterwards which is free to enter and runs till around 10pm.

Well! 18th December Sunday is our Christmas bash at Newtown. Our 2 guests are Steve Thomas and Pey Guerin. It all starts a 13-00 playing through till 19-00 All the usual residents shall be playing a wide range of soul music. If you have any interest in the cup final it shall be shown on the 3 tvs 2 in games room 1 in foyer from 15-00. Hope you can make it. The club has no problem if you would like to bring snacks/sandwiches etc. All followed by an evening of music down at the swan and railway in wigan. still only £3 on the door. This is a no talc venue by order of the club Free entry at the swan.

Newtown soul club will be celebrating the life of the legendary northern soul dj Steve Whittle on the 20th of November. I don’t think that many people from our time on the soul scene would not know who this man is and what he has done for the scene. I have been asked to put this post on behalf of Newtown Soul Club. It will be free to enter and they would like it if you could wear something red in memory of Steve as he was a massive Manchester United fan. There will be a collection on the day so if you wish to make a donation it will go towards a wreath from all of you and anyone to do with the club. We hope to see you all there on the day. Dj’s for the day will be Mark, Paul, Blunny and Neil along with guest Dj’s Andy McCabe and Burt Harrison.

This Months Guest DJ is Ian Wills Along with Newtown residents Steve Whittle, Paul Hayden, Neil Edwards with Eric Fanning and Jimmy Knowles standing in for two of the residents that are unable to attend this month. Looking forward to seeing you all down there and then hopefully seeing some of you at the Swan and Railway in Wigan town centre to finish the day off (7.00pm till around 10.30pm).

Please remember this is now a no talc venue by order of Newtown club committee (this has nothing to do with the people who run the event). Sunday the 17th July is the 7th anniversary of Newtown Soul Club, so as a good will gesture it will be FREE ADMISSION as a thank you for all your kind support over the years. Spinning the sounds will be Nick Kay early doors along with the Newtown residents Mark Hayden, Paul Hayden, Neil (Eddie) Edwards, Martin (Blunny) Blundell, and Steve (Mr.Ms) Whittle.

It's only £3 on the door if last month is anything to go by it'll be another packer. Please note The Working Mens Club committee have made a rule of no talc so if you use it and are caught you shall be asked to leave. This is not our rule so we don't police it. The club shall be policing it. Cheers all. If that's not enough it's also Paul Hayden's birthday so why not have a drink with him and help him celebrate.

Sunday 19th April we shall be welcoming Steve Thomas from Holyhead. He has a fabulous collection of vinyl. There's usually a gang of them that travel up with him. He has done a couple of events for us before but this is his 1st time at Newtown so let's give him a warm Newtown Wigan soul club welcome. It's Easter Sunday so for the majority of us no work on Monday. Win Win. Not forgetting the Newtown resident DJ's Mark Hayden, Paul Hayden, Neil Edwards, Martin Blundell and Ste Whittle.

Newtown wigan soul club presents a Moss Bank Reunion on Sunday 16th January. With djs Tony Mundey, Tony Brooks, Martin Blundell + guest dj Nick Kay playing some of the best records from over the years of Moss Bank. We shall also be getting our usual spot from the maestro of Mr M's fame Steve Whittle. If you need his book signing bring it along and im sure Steve will oblige 13-00/19-00 £3 OTD. Dj times TBA, MOSS BANK was a place in a million its been closed for a few years now but it hosted some fabulous nights. Come along and relive those memories. Mark Followed by Swan and railway
